It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

It seems that the sweetspot is 1000mA. These diodes are great !!

Thanks Cyparagon for the analysis. :gj:

DTR use the G2 lens for his 1.1W output.

DTR did use 650-G-1 Lens, Cyparagon measured output through Aixiz glass.

I asked him to measure through Acrylic too. You never know.

So looks like about 750ma to get a nice 635-640 and not shift the color to much right?

What happend after 1800mA ? They just died and turn into LED or they went broken ?

I did notice in the video in post 459 that it started out at 1.5 amps and finished up at 1.5 amps 7 minutes later, but if you look at the beam on the wall you can see with your eyes the intensity has dropped after 7 minutes.

Jordan do you have a light meter ? if so get it into play here and see just how much it's degradation is.

No, he let them cool off to room temperature and just said that the diodes did not suffer any measurable damage to beam profile or output power.

Dayum.

Here are some measurements I did yesterday.

Never got that high. @1.6A it starts to dim and I am sure shutdown is just above that but did go above as I wanted to run more tests and did not want to kill it for no reason.

I will meeter the diode tonight when I get home and see how much degradation if any it had suffered after that run. It was the last thing I did last night.

So have we found the current they die at yet?

445 diodes were rated at 750mA and they can survive 2A -> 2.67% overspec
our 638 diodes are rated at 400mA and can survive 1.5A --> 3.75% overspec

So... it seems we have finally reached the day when red diodes can be driven at over 1A... I am so impressed... (Now let's hope that WL doesn't do anything stupid...)

Haha this threads becoming a monsterrrrr

Just need a good host now.

Man these multimode diodes are are a ray of sunshine for the hobby. Awesome work Jordan, and Cyp. All the eyes are on you guys. But gotta watch out the Chinese dont see this. The prices may go up.

Now I need to go sell some plasma to buy one. :tinfoil:

I don't know what Rayfoss's buying power is, but I have trouble imagining that it would be much higher than our combined resources in this community.

IE, if they decided to double their selling price, I'm sure we could muster together enough funding to put in a bulk order of several hundred diodes and get the same price they got. Between the individuals, sellers, and projector gurus over at PL (that will no doubt decide it better to correct one of these $70 diodes, than spend $750 on their red channels), there would have to be several hundred diodes worth of purchasing power. Especially now that we know what these can do!

just adjusted the current on my hotlight build to 1050mA using a 650-G-1 lens...heres the graph:
