I don't know, why would anybody label such an insanely powerful diode at only 300mW?

445nm diodes are rated at 800mA or so, right?

My best guess is that 300mW and 500mW are the same diodes, just binned for efficiency, much like A130 and A140 at 445nm.

I doubt that as one is a closed can and the other is an open can. At least that much is different in their production which would come before binning.

Didn't know that. You already have 500mW version of this piece of heaven?

Let's first let the Earth cool down from the 300mW version for now.

We can Group Buy the sh:)t out of 500mW version later. Maybe they even drop in price for a little.

Can't wait to get home. Within 23 hours, THAT will be powered up on my table.

For those who need glasses I found the cheap blue glasses that suck for 660nm work great for 635 check out the side by side

^^Do you hold the goggles infront of both the lasers?
The right spot looks like 638nm!?..

Yes I turned on both lasers behind the goggles and projected onto a black plastic sheet. Also the LEFT spot is 638nm i know crazy huh. These glasses seem really effective vs 638 and not so much vs 660nm. On the plus side on the LPM mt 250mw 660 went down to <5mw.

I also double checked with my single mode 638, 685 and 660 diodes ranging from 36 - 150mw and 638 was by far the least bright.

BTW these are the glasses the cheap ebay kind

Thank you!

I will get some of my collection out and get a better picture so hopefully it will be

46mw 638nm
250mw 638nm
150mw 660nm
250mw 660nm
36mw 685nm

Then you can compare them all.

:O This is getting intense! I'mma wait till I make my next laser sale (still waiting on the damn parts) but once I get that, I am going to dive into one of these diodes! Even know the perfect host for one of these things (C6 + DX stock driver = 900mA with an 18650!).

Is there a slipover version available?

He said that the diode didn't die after the run...unbelievable! :wtf:

Thanks. Sorry i'ts a big hard to watch how fast this thread is updated
First the 445nm diodes. Now this. Damn it's exciting to live in 2011 :D
