New Nichia 9mm 1W 520nm diode (NDG7475T)

Wait...

This means this diode is now the brightest 1W available(dark-adapted eye). Amazing how far we have come

OMG I go away fo for two short months and all this happens. I see old members coming out of the woodwork and the PL gods sharing info. Just don't tell the end is near I might fall for it
This is fricking amazing stuff indeed.

Nope just the top portion you see there. I think that was all that was passed along form the main source.

If that is the divergence figures of the PL520 you would expect better from O-Like as someone buys that expecting a single mode type beam profile and get a line style output they may be a tad disappointed but they also have fake G-2's they are selling. Can't trust anyone these days. Maybe that is why they no longer have paypal support. Probably either got cut off or did not want to have to deal with the buyer protection.

Yeah, O-like has been going downhill for a while. Glad to know you have them at the same price :)

More Info from Nichia:
The AlInGaN based green laser diodes were grown
on c face GaN substrates by a metal organic
chemical vapor deposition method. As a result, we
succeeded in demonstrating 1W 525 nm Green
LDs. The optical output power, voltage and the
wall-plug efficiency at the forward current of cw
1.5 A were 1.01 W, 4.76 V and 14.1% at 25 °C,
respectively. The lifetime was estimated to be
over 15,000 h by the lifetime test which was
carried out under the condition of a constant
current of 1.5 A at 50 °C for 1000 h

Watt-class AlInGaN blue and green laser diodes
(LDs) on c face GaN substrate are fabricated. The
optical output powers of blue LDs and green LDs
were 3.75 W and 1.01 W, and the wall plug efficiencies
were 38.5% and 14.1%, respectively.
The lifetimes were estimated to be over 30,000
and 15,000 hours at a case temperature of 50°C.

High efficiencies on both laser diodes.

Just fired one up these are awesome. I think the beam is actually tighter than the M140 or 9mm 445's. Bright as hell as it is the middle of the day here and the beam is very visible inside.

I will do some power tests tonight.:)

Here it is @ 25 feet.

That was the three element. I will get some with a G-2 tonight.

Awesome stuff DTR!

Looks like the spot/divergence isn't nearly as bad as the datasheet originally stated.

Can't wait for the power tests

Blue wave is STRONGER than green I believe.
Green is just better visible for OUR eyes.

Correct me if I am wrong. I did read something confusing on page 1...
Better visible doesnt automatically mean stronger.
