It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

Multimode you say? :( It's ok though since they are high power :D
Now the question is how far they can be pushed :D

The multi mode can probably be corrected with the same prisms for 445nm Two of these running at 250mW each in a projector will be amazing :D

Woah, this looks awesome! Made for scanner applications, it would seem :p

I'll make sure to pick up a few of those myself.
Also as a little side note, you guys know if I can get any 500mW or higher 638nm or 642nm red diodes in 9mm package? Anything but c-mount.

@OP, it says the maximum operable current is 400mA, with typical 330mA - I'd go for 350mA and see what it behaves like.

Let us know real quick!

OK Guys another Update.:)

First i want to say that iam 100% positive this is 635nm/638nm or extremely close to that.:na: But For sure 120% it is not 658nm.

The Divergence is worse then a 445nm is. Like a 445nm beam with a G1. Maybe a Little Worse then that. We will get into that a little later.:)

So,

So Far i have tested the diode up to 240mA. Its Doing a Max Of 104mW From a Complete cold start after not using the laser for 15 minutes. Iam sure it will be a Little higher if left longer.

THe Lowest it dropped was to 91mW but then keeped going up and down between 91mW and 97mW.

The Heatsink is Large so thats not way. I guess Multi modes are just like that.?

Looking at the DataSheet this is Right on.

Iam still getting the other driver ready and built.:)

Beam shots and stuff will come tonight.:D Its only 5:30pm Here.

Will Do. Driver is Being Prepared.:) Iam Probebly not going to pass 350mA until i get my other 1 in.:) But thank you for the Suggestion iam glad someone else thinks that is a Good spot.:)

I knew these would have crappy divergence. The question is - with an Aixiz GLASS red lens, how is the divergence? Because I know the G1s make for crappy divergence (capturing all of the light) but if I wanted to get a nice, fairly collimated 635 with a semi-visible beam... would this be the way to go? Or is the power density too low because of the huge divergence?

I am Using a AR coated Red Acrylic lens and also tried with an Aixiz Red glass. Little Improvement. Not Much....

I was comparing it to a 445nm and a G1 lens. To give you guys an Idea of what its Like. Was Not using a G1 lens in the testing.;)

I will take close up shots when it gets dark out.

so vs a lpc-815
how does it stand?
if this can indeed do 300mw cw and 635nm vs 660nm will it be brighter?
And i know you said it had bad divergence but you think it would be usable for a scanner with out a prism pair correction optics?
i saw the picture and i know they can be misleading but i am looking for any good new red for my projector. i want to put 2 together threw a cube although if the beam is rectangular i might knife edge it to make it square.

Sweet, I ordered two a couple days ago and I can't wait to receive mine after seeing that these are legit.

same power, 635vs 660 . 635 would definitely be a lot brighter.

Then took my DMM and started testing Pin outs because i thought of the other 638nm thread and thought that maybe there was a different pin out.

Sure enough the pin out is Just like a 445nm diode.

So kiyoukan yes its insulated.

As for the Color it for sure is not 660.:D

In Fact I dont want to say 100% but iam 99% sure its 635nm/638nm.:D

I started reading through this thread and was like the ones i got from them yesterday were not case positive. Good to see you figured it out. I would also agree they look like 635 to me. I have a 635 Opnext 250mW to compare with and they look the same color.:D
