Multimode you say? It's ok though since they are high power
Now the question is how far they can be pushed

Woah, this looks awesome! Made for scanner applications, it would seem
I'll make sure to pick up a few of those myself.
Also as a little side note, you guys know if I can get any 500mW or higher 638nm or 642nm red diodes in 9mm package? Anything but c-mount.
@OP, it says the maximum operable current is 400mA, with typical 330mA - I'd go for 350mA and see what it behaves like.
Let us know real quick!
so vs a lpc-815
how does it stand?
if this can indeed do 300mw cw and 635nm vs 660nm will it be brighter?
And i know you said it had bad divergence but you think it would be usable for a scanner with out a prism pair correction optics?
i saw the picture and i know they can be misleading but i am looking for any good new red for my projector. i want to put 2 together threw a cube although if the beam is rectangular i might knife edge it to make it square.
Then took my DMM and started testing Pin outs because i thought of the other 638nm thread and thought that maybe there was a different pin out.
Sure enough the pin out is Just like a 445nm diode.
So kiyoukan yes its insulated.
As for the Color it for sure is not 660.
In Fact I dont want to say 100% but iam 99% sure its 635nm/638nm.
