PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

No, that laser is only $900 because its the last one left. Its not a typo. They do that to save on listing fees.

$40 Coherent power meter (40 minutes left!). No idea how it works or what the specific model is. But certainly cheap!

They just relisted it, looks like there is some ablation on the center of the sensor although it's hard to tell with the crappy photos. I'm gonna pass on it. An awesome deal though if it were undamaged.

There is no data on it, either. I've not seen the DB15 on a head, before. And since it isn't bundled with an actual meter, isn't it a crap-shoot?

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

It may be for an older Coherent meter or an OEM product. Either way it could be integrated into existing LPM solutions with a bit of electronics knowhow. Point is moot though since the sensor is damaged. Some of the heads I see on ebay look like they went through the battle of Gettysburg

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coherent-DEOS-LC-25-25-Watt-Laser-w-PWR-supply/161132112528

This is an RF-excited CO2 laser. It's rated for 25W and producing more than 30W presently. In terms of CO2 lasers, these are really slick. RF excited lasers are way more compact than HV excited ones. At this time, many have bid and its at $75. I imagine it will go higher.

If you're looking to play around with deep IR 10600nm, then this is a pretty cool one to have.

Dead HeCd's $70 a pop.

Mine came in, heavy 2-3ft beast, but still awesome. I have it open on display so I can look at all of the internals, and identify them without worrying about getting dust on the optics.

WARNING: There is asbestos in some of these for insulation. If you get one that does, leave it alone. As Dave said "mesothelioma is forever." This is not something to play with, and your curiosity is not worth a lifetime of lung problems that may come from a wrong move somewhere. I have mine open, and on display, and the asbestos hasn't been touched since my experiment to differenciate between it, and fiber glass. So DON'T TOUCH! Not worth it! Google it if you want to see what's under the cage.

DEAD $70 HeCd

See the following pics for size reference compared to a 360 controller (I don't own any rulers...)

That resonator structure is very heavily built, quite impressive

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please
