Mini-review 50mW Green module from Fasttech

See THIS thread. I am sceptical of how they will do it(I think we will see less quality) but it looks like it went through and they are adding higher power modules.

Most likely not! Because if that where the case they would only be able to offer 100mW modules. The height I seen so far was like 115-125 iirc. There going to have to get a supplier that can produce 150, 200, who knows even 300. That's what I think.

But if they do I think we will see higher prices. When they get a supplier who can deliver those they may cut off the other supplier and just use the more expensive ones. I personally think stirring the waters looking for more is just going to get us less. For better or for worse though, it has gone through. I think I may buy a couple more of the 50mW modules while they have them and then get some of the higher powered ones when they start carrying them.

My 3 50mw modules and 2 single aaa pens are in route from CA so I'll likely get them by Wednesday or Thursday. I'll report my values. Hoping to see another one over 100mw again.

I hope it doesn't change for the worst :undecided:

Great information! I'm a new member and I just received mine from Fasttech a few days ago. Mine didn't work at first, but I noticed the back portion wasn't threaded in straight. After I backed it out and screwed it in straight, it worked! I think I want to power mine with a CR123 primary cell or a LiFePO4 cell. A friend of mine bought a similar module and mounted it inside an Altoids can. I think I want to do something similar except I'm thinking I can epoxy a 1/4-20 nut onto the bottom of the can in hopes of easily mounting the thing on any ordinary camera tripod.

I ordered one, yesterday. It was shipped out today, can't wait :D

Mine is still running hotter than hell and happily! Don't try this at home...

What are you doing in that picture? Did you really just put it in your charger????

Lol...I have the module taped to one of my good 18650's, with leads soldered to mini-clips holding very strong magnets to contact the battery. They're solid core leads, so I just bend them out of the way and slap the battery in the charger. The reason it's homeless is because I put Isabella's tuned-down module into this guy's C-6.
