Mini-review 50mW Green module from Fasttech

Excellent work as always Pman  I thought the Maglite head mod was pretty creative :) Too bad those FT only come in green. Some other colors would be nice. I might try harvesting the driver when I get my hands on some. I'll probably destroy it, but I'm curious. I like the idea of trying some of the micro lithiums too. I understand they'll have a short life but the idea of micro hosts appeals to me :)

That's really awesome of you Issac. I'll contact you next month as soon as I get paid  Thanks a lot :D

PM me your address and I will ship it to you when I get a chance. Just hit me when you are able.

Does anyone know where I can get lens caps for the fasttech modules? I'd like to do some builds with them but I'm expecting the front to stick out a little and the lens cap would fix that issue.

so I got a new 200mW module in from wallbuys and I can confirm this new module puts out 200mW+ so I'm very happy with that. the first didn't put out 200mW but this one did and I'm very happy!!

Wow, lucky you!

Did they replace it without too many questions?

Seems to be sold out now... :(

No just a couple of days of talking with cherry, and thats mainly a time zone issue. I made a video just like this and she took care of it for me. Very happy with this module!

also I forgot to mention this new module pulls 606mA and the old one only pulled 530mA. I have not touched either of the pots!

Hmm... could it be that the pot on the first module was not turned enough by the manufacturer?

Have found that if a module is going to adjust, it adjusts quite a bit but if a slight change makes little difference then set it back to the ma where it was at or it's just wasted heat and shorter life.
Nice that you got a good one but I don't like how expensive they are for the crap shoot mw. The low IR $5 Fasttech 3 and 5V modules are still the best deal around. Have gotten quite a few that have been over 100mw and the others put out some really nice beams for some really inexpensive fun builds.
Tough for me at least to pay for one module that will likely be between 100-200mw (or broken) or get 6 Fasttechs (haven't gotten DOA ones). Think the one I got from Wallbuys was around 130mw but that was after adjustment (I'll have to find it).
I now attempt adjustment on all modules as some can really put out. I've gotten so many of them that I'm good at safely adjusting and knowing how much they can be pushed.
Would like to see the Wallbuys at $15. Too spoiled by Fasttech stuff at this point I guess. Wallbuys won't guarantee those units are 200mw and from what I've seen reported, it's very unlikely you will get one that high. It's great that you did and I'm happy for anyone where this works out for them.

I've been posting all my Fasttech builds in Nicks label selling thread if you want to see a LOT of builds. Numbers on them are the tested mw;)
