Hello,
I recently purchased a 2W 445nm M140 DTR Laser Module and X Drive from your shop on Amazon. I would like to connect it to a Smoothieboard to do laser engraving and cutting. I have the following components:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HFHJBDI
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V5CF0MU
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B6DOA0G
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DYVBB3W
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IX6SJEC
My intent is to connect the 7vdc wall supply to the power input of an on-board mosfet and then connect the x drive to the output of the mosfet. The Smoothieboard then uses PWM to modulate the intensity of the beam. See attached for pinout. Is this setup going to be a problem for any reason? I don't want to burn up the diode. Do you have any examples I could look at where your customers may have done this?
