I recently purchased a 2W 445nm M140 DTR Laser Module and X Drive from your shop on Amazon. I would like to connect it to a Smoothieboard to do laser engraving and cutting. I have the following components:

My intent is to connect the 7vdc wall supply to the power input of an on-board mosfet and then connect the x drive to the output of the mosfet. The Smoothieboard then uses PWM to modulate the intensity of the beam. See attached for pinout. Is this setup going to be a problem for any reason? I don't want to burn up the diode. Do you have any examples I could look at where your customers may have done this?

Hi! I wanted to take a moment to thank you , and to ask a question. First, thanks for leading me to this forum! You see, when I first became interested in this hobby, I came across your eBay store, and the link to this forum. Who knows how long I would have wandered around the interwebs before landing on this wealth of knowledge? And now for the question: I recently purchased a couple 501-B JAD kits from Mohrenberg. I intend on using your 1.8W 445nm diode in module in one, and a 2W M462 in module in the other. I am curious what you recommend for a duty cycle for these two diodes, in a 501-B. I imagine it isn't terribly long, given the size of the host and heatsink. Anyway, thanks for your time, and all you do for the hobby!

DTR, Hopefully I'm not trampling the boundaries of etiquette with this PM. I've searched and asked and not comfy with my findings.

I bought (FROM YOU) the 2W 445nm M-Type M140 Blue Laser Diode, the 405-G-2 glass lens and your copper module from your Ebay store. I have built the host with 3 RCR123A 3.0V 750mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Batteries in series. Output voltage is around 9.5 volts with momentary surge of 10.4.

What's the best driver for this?

Hey, I believe I just bought a 445nm diode off of you on Ebay. The username was dtr-lpf. Am I safe to assume I have the right man?

I don't need the G9 anymore. I would like to buy the 9mm and module from you though. If you are getting more of the xboost right away then I can order those from you too, otherwise I'll order them from flaminpyro on monday. Thought I'd give first dibs if it was possible since I'm already going through you. I'd need a guarantee though, I don't want to not get it when I have the chance! Thx

Hello DTR , recently i have bought a 2w m140 445nm blue laser diode w/ 3 element glass lens from dtr laser shop and made my own circuit using LM317 regulator but the beam was not very bright and only visible at night . Battery used was single 9v .
However , i decided to buy a host from survival lasers and the 1.25A driver and connect it to the laser diode of which the driver says to be able to emit more then 1w of output power . Even after i completed the soldering of the driver and inserting to the host , the power output remains the same and jus visible at night the entire beam .
I have then used direct current of 1.8A and 4.5V using a dc power supply and the beam is bright but still does not burn anything . Is there anything wrong with the diode ?
