Agreed.
I used the extreme example to help Ken understand something and to help refocus the members' attitude
Ken is a great guy and a creative inventor.
Unfortunately, he is also a poor businessman and has some personal problems that prevent him becoming a better businessman
One CANNOT live off of the payment for a product not yet delivered
If one does, then if there is a problem, there is nothing left to fall back on or pay for the refunds and/or customer service
We are seeing the same problem with bhwollen right now.
I believe, that is what happened here. Ken's life got out of control in the middle of this GB.
Unfortunately, he has already "lived off of' the money from the GB.
He is dealing with it with what little discretionary funds he has available from each paycheck he earns
The old saying that "You can't get blood out of a turnip" applies.
No matter how much the members yell, scream, cajole, threaten, etc. there is no money available to just refund disgruntled customers.
No level of wailing, chest thumping, or gnashing of teeth will alter that fact
Ken is a good guy who has lost control of life.
I have no doubt that he will
EVENTUALLY take care of all of his customers.
He has displayed that level of character.
I am NOT making excuses for Ken's lack of professionalism with this GB.
He was wrong and handled this poorly.
I am just pointing out that increasing the level of tension and stress in his life WILL NOT make anything happen any sooner
I was also trying to help Ken understand the shift in attitude in the forum.
Some members have adapted to the shift.
We have lost some others.
Others have gone "underground" and basically ONLY do limited business here anymore.
As another old saying goes, "Adapt or die!"
Peace,
dave
**EDIT** @ Jerry -- I just noticed your post count. I saw it coming, but neglected to keep track of it. :yabbem:
Nicely done. What was your 10,000th post?
