Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please
One of my optoelectronics professors was shocked when I told him this cheap 5mW green was a DPSS laser. He simply couldn't believe a DPSS green with aligned optics could be fit so small, stay solid, and cost under $10. He assumed a laser under $10 MUST be a direct diode... Obviously he was wrong.
All I am saying is, even if someone knows what a DPSS is, doesn't mean they know everything. Clearly this seller may be ignorant, but that doesn't mean he's a scammer. I'm sure the Vega he sold was an actual Vega. And his prices aren't inflated by hundreds of %s. I am not trying to say people should buy from him, but I am simply saying that it is a bit harsh to call him a scammer.
And if someone actually did purchase this knowing what a direct green diode is and how much they usually cost, then they are no better than a newb purchasing a "300mW Green laser" for only "$50" from a DX type of website, and then seeing it is <100mW.
He said it's a direct green diode with no conversion from IR, which means he knows what he's talking about. That makes him a scammer.
