My chemistry teacher ordered a 3 pack of lasers off amazon.
Amazon.com: QQ-Tech® Green Red Blue / Violet / Purple Beam Laser Pointer Combo 3 Laser Light Pens 5mw 532nm 650nm 405nm Triple Colors Astronomy Powerful: Electronics
They seemed a bit bright so I offered to bring them home and meter them.
Let's see how they did. First up, the 405nm:
With an average power of around 60mW, it is 12 times the rated power.
Next up, the 532nm:
At 75mW, the green is 15 times the rated power.
Finally, the 650nm:
This beast clocked in at 110mW, 22 times the rated power. (sorry for the weird scale)
I expected the violet would be be overspec but the red and the green caught me by surprise.
