i think reputation should count more than post counts. e.g spam etc.
just something to add, list of importance imo
1: reputation
2: $20 minimum
3: same country
5: 6 month membership
6: >500 post count

I know 500 posts is not a measure of a members importance, but it shows they have an interest in the forum, and want to be a part of the community.

You have to set the bar high because we have so many members.

Funny thing is I don't even celebrate christmas (or any religious holidays for that matter) but I have been in a few "secret santas".

Sometimes you get something nice. Sometimes you get a useless paperweight. Twice it was a gift card. That's why it's important for there to be some rules.

I'm most curious about how or who would select the the gift giver and receiver

Last time, when I worked in a large office, we drew names out of a hat (and than proceeded to hastily exchange them with each other).

also to make it easier.... when it comes time for this to actually happen, make a new thread and list everybody in order of when they said yes....

then every body gets the person underthem the gift.... or if you don't like that once the list is final, maybe jefferythe or me or whoever can randomly pm all participants with who the will be getting a gift for.
