It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

:toilet:

Ok... now how about LPMing it at ~1.5A?

I feel like we might need to do another murder fund for you killing this ld prematurely.

Yes I will probably kill it but this is too damn exciting.

OK just so anyone knows this is not a current to set these diodes to. This is just to show how tough they really are.

Wow. That is amazing! 1W of red, just...

The best is yet to come. All I can say is if you guys want I will see how long it runs @ 1.5A.:eg:

Anyone want to take bets?

Well, I honestly have no idea, never having pushed a diode before. I'm going to guess 2 hours! :D

I think it may LED :P Either that, or these are identical to the 445s, and it won't decay at all.

This is phenominal!

I want to be a Debby Downer for a moment and just remind everyone that MANY forum members don't own laser safety glasses for red. Although we should, even for our old 300mW LOCs, I know that many haven't felt the need to own red-blocking glasses for the reds we've been playing with up until now.

But now is the time to order some. At 1W +, this is nothing to be casual about.

Ok, back to the excitement!

I can tell you I agree. The red either feels more intense or I am just not used to it. My glasses are insufficient and I am feeling it.

I am at 7 minutes and it does not look like it is dimming at all and there still is no noticeable heat from touching the heatsink.:gun:

It will take too long to upload the video so you are just going to have to take my word till morning.:o

For any members looking for goggles that will protect against high-powered red's:

I'll have to get myself a pair before I dabble with these new diodes :)

I do have to say sorry to Cyparagon if I stole some of his thunder. There still is a lot of more scientific data that he can provide beyond my caveman just crank it up and beat it with a stick approach. The wavelength info for one will be very useful. Anyway sorry buddy.:yabbem:

The best part of this is this diode I though was going to be toast for sure. I decanned it by mounting it in my dewalt drill spinning it and cutting the can off with a dremel with a cutting wheel attachment.

Holly Crap DTR. Thats Nuts. Just seen all these Posts.

The 500mW 635nm ones will be Just like 445nm diodes. I'll put money on this.:D

Wow, this is awesome news;). The Debbie Downer reminder is a real danger too, I will need a pair of safety protection for this level of emission:D. This is an awesome thread:)!

I had a feeling these would be really tough like the 445's...
