I am really thinking I could have sustained the 650mW @ 700mA but when I turned it to 800mA I got 700mW but it then started to drop so I lowered it a little.

It is all good. I got a little impatient myself and did some testing of my own tonight. Actually out of the 30 units that I got one of the diodes had a loose diode window so I kept that one. I decaned it tonight and mounted it in my Maxsink. Then I proceeded to do some testing on it. I am still really looking forward to seeing the results from Cyparagon especially the wavelength sift data.
Here is a video I made. I will say my current guess is that they can be safely driven @ 550-600mA but I will need to put some more time on one @ 600mA and see if it degrades. Now you are going to love this.:eg:
Test was done with a G-2 lens.
Should I push my freak to 600mA to see what i get.:eg:
???
I would feel really bad if it died on you... but looks like 600mA is not that dangerous... maybe go very slow with it?
DTR - Was this test done on the 300mw or the 500mw version of the 635nm diode? I just want to be sure because I have two of those on order. I should get them this weekend, can't wait to mount 2 of them with PBS cube in my projector!
I was Guessing that same as DTR ~600mA was the max I would say but ill just wait 1 more day for some more testing results before i turn this sucker Up>:eg:
But that video sure makes me anxious.
Man where are these 500mW at.
Going to try it out at first without corrective optics just to test, I am still keeping my LPC-815's in case I want to put them both back...
I'm hoping for a little bit more... enough to break .5W without using a g1, but an aixiz red instead.
The runs I have done is with the little fan going but no I can feel no heat from the heatsink after the 4 minute run
Is it just me... or are these rather efficient when it comes to heat. Meaning very small hosts and high powers are realistic:yh:
