FS: PL520 Direct Green Laser Diode

I hate to say this, but 520 might be virtually indistinguishable from 532.

To see the nice forest green color, you really need down around the 510 to 515 (max) range.

I think zraffle got his spectro'd at 517nm I think and he says it's still an easily noticeable difference.

I would buy one of these to measure on my spectrometer, but I want to wait for the multimode ones ;)

id like to see these chilled with a tec or liquid nitrogen!

Okay...that is a little dissapointing :\ Do you, or anyone, know of a place to get a 510nm diode? And how much would those run?

Thanks,
Isaac

I couldn't find any green diodes other than the 520nm ones. I even google searched and tried to go in from there. Apparently he isn't so good with PMs so I will just hope he gets back to this thread.

The only ones he has in stock as of yesterday, and when I ordered, are the 520's. The sites very outdated.

Think I would have spent money on a 520 if 505's were available? ;)

heres a snippet from a email i got from Wil @ Laser66:

The wavelengths have increased due to better yeilds. The > 515nm parts used to be at a premium. Now, however parts are 520, with wavelength at 518- 520nm +/-. Low wavelength parts are gone, but the good news is the price is lower with higher wavelengths.

Send him an email at the addy listed in the OP

Peace,
dave

The x-drive (Lazeerer's buck driver) with three li-ion cells has been used with this diode. I believe that's what RHD and Arytha (SP?) used for their builds.

The operating voltage is a real pain in the backside with this diode.

Check out RHD/Arytha pictures of their comparisons or zraffleticket's pictures. Both have good comparison pictures with 532nm.

Or check out this video i made :)

I am in for a murder funds too. That make four of us. I love to see these diode can run 200mW. :)

Anyone want to organize this or should I go ahead?
I have a spectro as well as an LPM so I can take temperature vs wavelength readings.

The best is to create a new thread for experiences with the PL520 diode. I don't want to clutter this sales thread.
I think $20 per person is a good amount and I have no problem to ship the diode to Arglaser for testing.

I would with the one I have now but no LPM. I think you'd make a good candidate.

Or we could eliminate the middle man and just send the funds to Arg?

Price drop now $130, or chance getting one at $120 on eBay.
Also discounts at 10 pcs.
I will discount the units for bulk buys at 100+ units , email me.
