Wow... part of me wishes
c0ldshadow would
tear off the last 30 pages of this once-fantastic thread... :'(
YING
Speaking as a member of "Batch 2 - RoW", I'd just assume know where my IgorT 6x is right now, really I would. If anyone suggests they don't need to know then they are lying through their teeth. We are all human, we are all weary of the economic crisis and we are all cautious with dealing out our hard-earned money. I, for one, cannot afford to write off $272.00 and indeed hope that this will not be the case.
YANG
Having said that, I will
not contest Igor. As a matter of fact, despite the economy being as it is, I am willing to take the risk if it means not only getting Igor's
laser in the end, but getting back Igor's
input into this community which
(among with input from other invaluable members) makes this community what it is and is
the underlying reason why I am here. If my words do not relay Igor's genuine commitment to this "hobby", to
this community, then maybe his own words will:
"These [last three lens samples] are high quality precision grade aspherics. Unlike all the others, these were designed for laser diodes. They even have diode window thickness compensation! Other than collimating the beam, their shape also undistorts the spherical abberations caused by the diode window! These are diffraction limited lenses! Lenses where the size of the foused spot depends only on the wavelength! These are lenses, that could write a disk!"
It's hard not to appreciate the excitement that lies behind those words...
