Using bitcoins for transactions with newbies would also be a good way to protect yourself from idiot scammers like this. Gift payments may not work either - they can claim their account was hacked and paypal will still reverse the charge. Buyer always seems to win with paypal.

Bitcoin transactions are not reversible.

Be sure to keep all correspondence PM's and even info from these threads saved. One that springs to mind is his image with him holding a gun and threatening us. I just checked and he has already deleted it, so I hope someone actually saved it?

Edit: If it makes you feel any better you said you were out $360 plus $225 to build the laser. If he paid you $360 and you now have to return $360 that only leaves you the cost of building the laser...So even though it is a lot of money, its not as much as you thought!

that is so wrong on PayPal I was told if it shows delivered you there ok or is that just with ebay? Paypay got me on some drivers from China was told to send back registered mail and I would be ok, I did and he would not sign for them, so I am out $200 see video paypal I am out $200 sent back registered Mail - YouTube make a video put it on youtube and let people know . Yeah tell me about it. I have been fighting them for about 3 months over it. Then they just closed my account(and the second one i made after they did that) and said there is nothing i can do. So basically i can never have a paypal account in my name ever again! All because of some ****WIT that stole over $3700 off me!!! Also, paypal stole the couple of hundred dollars i already had in my PP account when the dispute was opened.

And bitcoin is fantastic, for seller's.. If a buyer can trust the seller 100%, that's great.. But then if something does legitimately go wrong then they have zero recourse..
I use bitcoin all the time.. I really do think it will be the future currency online..

Nope, but that's why it would work well for small trusted communities like LPF. We know we can trust most of the people here and the sellers can be protected from the noobs (which is where nearly all the scams seem to come from)

How about we start a anti scammer fund? I have sold things on PP. To XDA forum members mind you and I am glad that i haven't had any disputes. Never really thought about it till I started reading about it and finding about how much BS it is. I might even start doing what the OP has decided to do. It might be way better and safer.

I still can't believe they have done what has happened.. -.-' I feel for you and would donate a couple bucks to a relief fund.

Let the community know that I do not blame Wolfman or his driver for this debacle. The blame relies on myself for selling to him in the way I did, and on mattdy58 for his criminal behavior.

I am running the same driver in my 3W Kryton, and I am getting very nice duty cycles out of it. I am presuming it was a battery issue, but I never had the chance to find out.

If someone here was contacted to repair his laser for him, please let me know about it. I need ample evidence to protect myself in this situation.
