AixiZ 445nm lens...

I've been running my 445 with this lens at 1W for a day now without any problems. I guess I'll stop until it's either confirmed or denied that there is a problem.

I'm I to understand that you've been running a 445nm casio 130A
projector diode at enough mA to = 1W for a 24 hr. run.

Have ever heard of run time:D. that diode must be:cryyy: LOL!!!

lol no. I meant that I've been using the laser regularly for a day now (burn tests, drooling at the color, etc). Probably only 30 minutes to an hour of actual use.

I thought Chuck from aixiz was a LPF member. Who would on occasion, post?
Sure would be nice to have our concerns addressed by the company it's self.

I purchased mine from ebay. Not the 445nm, but a standard 405nm. I instead got the AR coated lens you guys are talking about.. blue reflection when looking at the AR coating instead of yellow. As to jay being the only one to communicate with them, I sort of disagree. If one customer complains it's a fluke, if a lot do, then it's an obvious concern. Not to mention, I specifically ordered the 405nm lens on ebay because I wanted it, NOT the 445 coated one. I do not care if it's the half threaded lens as I mostly use an external lens to do my focusing.

The AR coating is a broad coating which covers both 445nm and 405nm (at least it should, we still don't know whether it's coated for red).

It is coated for red, what we don't know is "Why" , I am sure that it's because of the vacations of main staff, like it was in my case - somebody needs to get a confirmation.

The good news is...

I got my partial order today and they are correct! :)

I only unwrapped one of the lenses. And I'm just taking it for granted that they are all the same...

People who have outstanding orders with me please be patient. I have a back log of orders that I will be filling on a 'date paid' basis.

scopeguy20 and SpyderFire, I'll get your guy's lenses in the mail today...

I tested the one that I unwrapped, and it was just about the same power as with the AixiZ 405 lens that I originally tested in my lens comparison thread. (about 5 mW's less power at 640mA's - Close enough!)

So these are what we have been waiting for in the full threaded metal nuts...

I don't know what happened with some of the other lenses that got sent out with a bluish tint. Perhaps a shipping department error...

That's something, anyway. At least the real lenses actually exist.

In your initial tests could you make any comparisons about beam/dot quality between the old 405nm lens and the new ones?

So now we know the few that got the ones with the blueish tint to them including me are really the red ones :(.

But thats great like stated above glad to know they exists and all we have to do is return and exchange them. Might take some time but better then nothing:)

I have a second one coming to me it might be here today or tomorrow i will report back and let you know witch one it is!!!

Jay, take a look at the other side of the lens. Does that also reflect yellow? For me it the other side reflects purple and the side your photographed reflects yellow. The picture doesn't show it well, but you can see on the other side it reflects purple (look at the lower right corner of the lens in the second pic).
Side you photographed:

Mine is a red for sure.. The anodizing looks the same, and it has the same 2 glue or marker spots..
Maybe someone messed up the ebay orders.

a little more waiting.............

I just spoke to one of the AixiZ reps over the phone. He confirmed that some of the lenses were partially coated (only one of the elements of the three perhaps) for red instead of blue and offered to send a replacement lens. He made it sound like there were only a very few number of lenses which were affected with this problem.

Problem solved :)

I agree with you, while it's good Jay communicates with them, I placed my own order and I don't think there is any way a 3rd party can get my order corrected for me; so that does me no good what-so-ever; my order was placed directly on their web site, I like how some one is blaming the "new" guy for this, don't these come from China?

I think you and Ken misundestood me. Chuck wants email concerning replacement for the correct lens. He is going to make sure everybody gets what they ordered. He is sorry that many of the wrong ones got sent out by mistake. He only got a partial shipment in so far but expects the balance very soon. If I understand him correctly there may not be any of the 'old' 405s coming in. The explaination of why and how this all happened is lengthy and is not important ATM. He appeared totally sincere to me and I left our meeting with very positive feelings(and half my order of FT AR Metal Body 445nm GLass lenses) I am sure in due time we all will be happy and this will be history. The oldest orders for these from me will be mailed out in the morning, the others asap.

BTW if you opened a laser 'shop' and tried to hire 'laser experts/techs' to work there(if you could afford to pay such help) how many qualified applicants do you think you would get????

About half his staff are his family who were with him on the family vacation.

Plz feel free to PM me if you have any question that i can answer.

Seems like an honest mistake, some wrong coatings got shipped out, and Aixiz is saying all the right things to make it right. No worries here.
