^Since you are in EU, there are lots of folks who would be better off buying from someone locally than someone in the US. I would try to tap into that market if I were you..

I have no problem with anyone here selling these diodes.. I wouldn't worry about interfering with the group buys. Group buys are a little more of a reliable source than individuals selling diodes, so people wanting a stable and reliable source will still buy from the group buys.

So, I'm thinking of pushing my diode @ 750mA, maybe 800mA tops just to ensure longevity. Anyone else here going to push theirs harder?

Also, for this diode I should use the micro boost drive, correct? You think 2 AA batteries will suffice in powering this thing for a decent amount of time? I was thinking of using NiMh since I hate lithiums.

I was actually wanting to push mine to about 900ma, but with the news of the DX tail clickies failing I think I'll have to hold back to 750ma at most... Someone found a better clicky yet??? :/

I have a blue "marbled" Kryton Groove that I have saved for just this day. I will set it up with the diode "only" putting out ~500mW and leave the driver "accessible." That way I can play and then turn it up when we figure out a switch replacement

People are running these at 1A with promising results.

Uhm, right ..... so, i can open a "feeler" at least, for see if there is interest, if this don't interfer with others GB ..... also cause, basically, this is not a real GB, just a way for try to reduce the loss ..... i don't plan to make them regularly, not with our prices ..... thanks.

They may not sell "overnight" like the first few GB's have, but at realistic pricing, they will sell quickly enough.

Cool, so I guess the nasa.gov website is lying.

Looks like it. They say, "The visible yellow light has a wavelength of about 570 nm. Low-pressure sodium lamps, like those used in some parking lots, emit a yellow (wavelength 589 nm) light."

And yet in the very next line they say, "The visible orange light has a wavelength of about 590 nm."

570nm is the peak of low brightness green LEDs, commonly found in modems, indicators and such. Definitely not yellow.

Color perception is about the least scientific science topic discussed around here. There's a lot of hocus-pocus and hand-waving and "just because" behind it. Heck, that CIE chart that gets bandied about so much and all the TV people love so much was made using a survey of French people in 1931. Yep, all modern discussions of color perception are based on a survey of white Europeans done 80 years ago. Humans have evolved different skin colors and different eye colors, who says we haven't evolved different color perceptions?

So trying to be "scientifically accurate" by correcting other people's color perception by saying "well NASA says it's indigo" is about as useful as tits on a bull. Sure, there's some basis for you to do so, but there's just as much basis for you to NOT do so. It's asinine.

Krytons are definitely a good host to have for these diodes, even with the massive power input to the diode it stays cool.

Sadly, i had to suspend it just after the opening ..... checking my emails, i found the one from the supplier saying "delivery delayed to unknown day, probably 20 days, due to stock shortage"

But he still don't accept an order cancellation, and i have already paid it ..... AAAARGH :gun: :gun: :gun:
