Uhm, right ..... so, i can open a "feeler" at least, for see if there is interest, if this don't interfer with others GB ..... also cause, basically, this is not a real GB, just a way for try to reduce the loss ..... i don't plan to make them regularly, not with our prices ..... thanks.
Not all laser enthusiasts are from USA, here are some in Europe.
I'd rather buy diode from you for 50USD+shipping than from someone in USA for 50USD + much more expensive shipping

I don't see any difficulties for selling these diodes in Europe.

Take into account Shipping times too, diode would arrive in one week from HIMNL9, while it can take several weeks to arrive from USA.

Good points are made here, but aren't we rushing a bit?
We still don't know HALF of what we should about these diodes.

Let's see what will some test tell us...

I don't think anyone's rushing anything. The test data is a bit scattered, but we already know LOTS about these diodes from the extensive testing that has been done just in the last few days!

Nobody is rushing, hell no - 1W 445nm blue diodes at the cost of GGW ...

Well, folks started talkign about distribution and redistribution.
Let's wait a bit, and grab all the diodes we can at Group Buys first.

Heck, if it were $60 for 10 mW, I'd buy it. It's about 100 times more powerful,
Speaking of watts, how is that 1W diode holding up?

I haven't heard any updates on the diode being tested at 1W, but I've been pretty busy at work.. I haven't heard that it has died, though, so perhaps no news is good news in this case.

Was it mentioned the Casio model? 2000 or 2500 lumen model?

Here's a quote from stanwax over on PL:

"I have taken some measurements by hacking into one leg of one bank and inserting a R47 resistor.
Running the unit & measuring the difference in voltage on a scope across either side of the resistor the results are as follows

Eco mode 2 (hi power save) I get 50% duty and 400mV which I make to be 850mA
Eco mode 1 (medium power save) I get 50% duty and 680mV which I make to be a whopping 1.4A!!
Eco off mode gives the same current but ups the duty to 66%

I ran this test last night and again this morn to be clear I was getting readings that agreed."

So wait, based on yoru part about 'original output in projector >600mW'. Their SAFE and STANDARD output was >600mW? the >600mW is what was supposed to last 1000+ hours?! DAMN!!! That is one smokin diode!!!

Ah yes! I read that somewhere. high and low eco mode, or somethin like that. Can't wait to see more media of these things!

One thing I do not understand , folks.
They used 24x blue laser diodes of cutting edge technology yet to bloom in laser market in video projector, totaling output of around 14W (!) - to get BLUE color, but a red LED emitter to get red?!

Where is the common sense in that?!

Is if they were deliberately targeting laser community.
As Mario said in that matter "Not that I'm complaining", same applies here,
I'm just a very nosy person so...

How does that fit in?

At least one explanation why the blue has such high power is because it has to do two tasks; making both blue and green light... And getting red light via florescence is a lot harder than green, so they just used a LED for red.

So if the projector costs 700$, if 600$ of that is cost of only the diodes, that means the diodes they get are $25 a piece.

So basically, 445nm 1W diode cheaper than freckin' SF-AW.

How?
Did I sleep over 5 years or something?
