120mW 638nm for $10.99 on the ebay including other Powers.

I think that he has already given a lot of information, and 11$ price is not THAT bad if it turns out to be what it is advertised as. Let them be happy before we find out that device by ourselves.

Not THAT bad?! It would be the steal of the century!!!!!!!!!!! Literally less than 1/10 of what a diode like would cost even if you found a great deal on it!

I ordered 2 of the 120mW 638s

My hopes are slim to none of them being 638
But nevertheless, I ordered a couple
In case they are good

Just a thought, Mitsubishi has been making large screen Laser TV's for several years now or more. They used laser arrays, but don't recall the nm for each color and think the green was still dpss in those originally, but who knows about the new ones? I know they still make them and have a new model out, but been several years since I tried to find specs on them.

Hey guys Please hold off on buying them.:)

They said they will have these in for long days to come.

Just wait and see what i get and what Pontiacg5 get since we are getting them before anyone.

Both my didoes shipped already and i will get them in 10-20 days. Usually <Weeks from ebay stuff coming from overseas.

I dont want to see you guys also getting burnt.

So please Hold OFF on ordering.

@ HIMNL9 Dont worries if these check out i will take care of you and pick some up for you and ship them to you.:D

You're not the boss of me, you can't make me, na na na na na na! ;p

In all seriousness though, people can judge for themselves whether they're willing to take the risk. You shouldn't feel any guilt merely for having introduced something to the community that turns out to be a flop - especially if everyone is clear from the get-go that it really is more likely TO be a flop, than not to be.

On PL:

Hello guys!

Some days ago I purchased these 600mW red diodes NEW 600mW 650nm High Power red laser diode | eBay
I asked the seller about the real output power. As expected they are rated at 600mW in pulsed mode. Again I asked him about the real output (CW). Then I got an email and was completely speechless.

Here I what he wrote:

"i just contact my supplier for the informations you need, they said it is their business secret, friend, the professional man can chek it himself .
i really apologize for the inconvenience,if you can provide the informations when you receive the laser diode ,will be much appreciated. again,i apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for contact"

He is honest at least :)

I know some people have nanometer testers, are any of the people who ordered them one of those people? Do you guys have LPMs?

I've got an LPM of course, and while I don't have the ability to directly test wavelength, I do have a diffraction grating, as well as some 658 and 638 nm lasers to compare this too.

Holy crap imagine if it turns out to be legit? These things will be the next craze( atleast it's not another 1W+ laser)

Yes I have an LPM.

I Plain on sending one of my builds to Cyparagon if they resemble anything like ~635nm.

I Just built a Higher power 635nm laser 21mW which gives me a better idea on what to look for. I also have plenty of 660nm laser.

I ordered the "638nm 500mW" diode.... it will be amazing if that's what I get for $25.

Almost no chance that will happen. Such a diode should cost $350+

Unless, of course, these are being used en masse in a consumer device, or they're factory seconds / junk / surplus (though I've never heard of that wrt laser diodes)
