My 120mW one Has not shipped but my 50mW has.

If it's already built, it makes wavelength measurement easier, but makes PIV graphs much harder. If you want to do current/power graphs yourself (or leave them to someone else or forget about them entirely), that's fine, too.

I bet they're just 660s :tired: but we'll have to wait and see.

What do you think. Where are they getting these diodes from. Especially at all these different output ranges.

I literally just replayed back to him begging him to let me know and i wont tell anyone.:eg:

If this is true it sound like they will have these in stock for a wail. If the source that they are getting them at for that cheep.

I know for sure that whatever they are in, it has to be something that the ratings very alot. Thats why i asked him if they where Sled and he said no.

I do not think they are comming from projectors as why would they have 30mW, 50mW, 80mW diodes etc.

Looks like I might be right? Unless they're just trying to bait you for more before you find out? I can't see them doing that on purpose. I dunno what's going on, but they they truly are new diodes how come no one else has found out?
 
What confuses me -

If they are legit (and they could be), that suggests that someone fairly sophisticated / knowledgeable with diode harvesting, has stumbled upon a novel new source of rare diodes.

Anyone that sophisticated / knowledgeable should surely be able to realize that they could sell these for 3x what they're asking (AT LEAST)
 
Maybe they're raising interest and selling them at a reduced price so that laser enthusiasts will buy just to confirm what they are.... then the price triples.

Maybe they are trying to sell as many as they can before the word gets out and we figure how to harvest them ourselves.....or its a scam.
 
Hey all,

Well I bought some 200mw 638's and 600mw 650. I needed some new reds to play with anyway. Even if they are all 660s I won't be bitterly dissapointed.
Will do some testing when they arrive.....

Another thing if it's not 638 what's causing this confusion and why would they be so sure of it if some of there regular customers were doubting it? Anyone want to do some research and see if they can find anything of interest patented in the last 1- 4 years at most?
 
Hey guys take a look at this thing.
Micro vein enhancer - Google Patents

It has a mintture projection head with a diode in the 630s range. 638 is mentioned. Unlikely, but could it be?


Edit also there's quite a few patents for things like this that use 638 and 740. they got back to 2007.

Its for sure a Projector Or at TV.<<< My guess..

~16 diodes of 638nm at these powered.:eek: For this price. If this is true we will figure out soon or later.

This would be the mother load if these do come to be what they say.

If it has the solder mask this will mean they are Harvesting them. That Will be another hint.

Could it be that "ASSIO" came out with a New Projector that replaces the stock PL LED.?


What do you guys say. Should i try to get more out of them. I dont want to over due it to where they do not respond anymore. He has been extremely responsive.:wave:
