XJ-A150 News

I won't be able to do any test for a long time. The V5 I recently bought doesnt give out more than 400mAh.
I'll get to it eventually though

As soon as mine comes i'll get it in a heatsink, but i'm not expecting anything different than the A140.

About the wavelenghts ..... if you recall, the Nichia datasheet (always supposing that these diodes ARE REALLY nichia chips in a 5,6mm can) says that wavelenghts of their 445nm can go freely from 440nm to 455nm, without any warranty ..... maybe they asked for a "cherry picked" lot of production that shows a more specific wavelenght, and nothing other .....

BTW, this also can mean that ANY of the actual 445nm diodes may have this difference, without any possibility to tell anticipately what wavelenght you get (so, probably you can get 2 diodes from 2 different production lots, one around 440 and one around 455, and this means nothing, cause this is the given range for the chips .....)

just my one cent and half (the rest is gone for taxes :p :D)

Even if they are identical to the 140s it would be cool and unique to have one of the few diodes to come out of the 150 projector!

The A150 series projectors are already starting to show up on eBay

Peace,
dave

Agreed, I put it in my personal carry laser. :D

For a subjective evaluation, I viewed the spot of the 130 and 150 installed in otherwise identical handhelds side by side, and the 150 "appeared" somewhat brighter.

OK, my quick and dirty non-scientific test tonight yielded the following results:

A130 diode = 1,161 mW max.

A150 diode = 1,159 mW max.

No observable difference in beam color.

As others have said, IMHO the advertised increase in lumen output must be due to additional factors within the projector.

It would seem so, perhaps they just drive them harder?

Ignus is T_J. He has been here plenty long and has plenty of rep. He has gone back to using his old account. Why even bring up this old thread to say that?? Just saying...:p
