The REAL Kryton GB round #3. Taking payments now.

Update for the new year. Taxes will be filed in the next few days and I will get back $4707. I will be paying another machinist here in town to manufacture the Beasts. How soon they will be done, I've not a clue. I've also decided upon a vibratory tumbler to polish the barrels up without heat. I should be able to get a very good mirror finish on the barrels without generating any heat. It won't be the same as with a wheel and rouge but should come close. I anticipate the refund within about 2-3 weeks and can purchase a vibratory tumbler at my local gun reloading retailer.

Kenom could you please send out my 4 kryton's i don't need or want them to be polished so if you could do this for me that would be great.

You might want to test one or two before you vibrate them like that. It might smash the threads.

Of course, you could leave them assembled. Assuming the media is big enough that it won't get into the lens threads and mess those up.

Good luck, I'm glad to hear things are back on track.

Edit: I've still have all of the cad files for the beast if you want them...

I assumed the hosts would be plugged up and something put over the threads to protect them during the vibration/tumbling. Maybe that is not possible? I am a bit scared about that now since they are so tight. I am sure he would test it before doing a batch of them though. Maybe that is not required though... I have no clue about virbration tumblers.

This should be done (tumbler) with the barrels assembled and the lens pocket plugged.

Otherwise, you risk the edge where the parts come together being "rounded." This would cause a slightly indented ring at the assembly contact points. The potential damage to the threading at the lens pocket should be obvious. That threading is a bit more "delicate." It would also definitely take the "edge" off of the threading of the major components, altering the fit.

Peace,
dave
