PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Just my 0.02 on this

First, That 473 was still a steal for the price, 150-180 mw is awesome.
A new DHOM 50mw is $375 on ebay. I have blm-100 (100mw) and it is one of my favorites. Name brands are usually higher also, I paid about $200 which was also a steal, $1999 new.

They are incomparable and lots of tech goes into a 473 DPSS, much harder producing than a 532 so more expensive.

Second, I'm not going to call him out, but we had one member a year ago that called "dibs" on almost every HeNe and mount/table at the time. I don't know how many he bought, but it gets annoying when the same person does it repeatedly.

I can see once in a while and I don't know how many honor it, but the more you do that, the more likely a gentleman's agreement will be broken. I've been tempted at times, but haven't.

Calling dibs on an item like a 150mw 473 and then only going to $120 implies you aren't that serious about it IMHO.

Part of it - is biting the bullet and paying what its worth when you really, really want it. Ebay is market price, what people will pay and you can usually get almost anything you want, if you are willing to pay the price.

Which is why I have yet to pursue a Reliant 300WC. :)

Anyone do anything with these 561nm crystals?

I am getting into DPSS, and figured I might as well grab it while it's available.

EDIT:

This person has 3 DPSS laser crystals up. For 1064nm, 1123nm, and 1319nm. That is for 561, 532, and 594.3 respectively. They're $25 a pop, and up for 24 hours. I'm grabbing one of each, and worrying about the mirrors for 561/594 another time.

Yes i pm'ed kaiser a while back as soon as i saw the 561 set, and he got them. Think the seller has another set up for sale now. Finding proper mirrors will be near impossible though, surplus that is

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

The seller seems to have several sets...

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Yes. They were bought at a large coherent surplus auction. They are 561 crystals from a eye surgery machine if I recall our conversation. As for an HR I may have a few soon, but an OC will be harder.

The whole dibs thing is really just to prevent a large bidding war between members. If you really want it, nothing is going to stop you from bidding what you want on it. It's not like you even have to announce it here.

When I post stuff in this thread, I'm either not interested in buying it myself, or I've bought what I needed before posting it. After that, it's not my problem anymore.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

The 1064/532 looks like a bonded set. Now I am wondering how to get the heat out of it. Usually crystals
of that size, at least the ones I have seen, and I haven't seen too many, are separate and the yag goes
into its own heatsink. Buyer's remorse, I guess. Maybe I worry too much.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

mine are bonded too, though pretty small. I have one from those tiny modules, and one from a larger CNI module. Its popular as it makes the cavity simpler and more compact, but after a certain point, about 150mW or so, its inefficient cooling wise and such, so they separate again to get better output and cooling, since the vanadate/yag needs a different temperature to operate.

^^^^^^^^^ exactly my thoughts

I got a tad confused and thought the 120$ limit was for the other item that BW had dibbs on- n/p my bad -coulda just asked him-

its all the fault of greedbay- at one time many knew each others Ebay handle and would see thier bid and 'be nice'

I have contacted winners to ask how the item worked- after they won-
and asked how high they planned to bid- you know.. to be nice

we IMO need to carefully and clearly state our intentions-

posters MUST also say its up for grabs-

and I see no reason to be shy about having already bid on an item 'found' and not posted - I can see how they may have hoped that no member would see it- and put it in this thread - to be nice-

but frankly almost nothing at ebay gets past us- if you are first to call dibbs - that can be seen by the past date/time-

I appreciate the time it takes to come back after your item arrives and post your after-the-sale results and feelings - that is always nice to read-

thanks to all who use this thread--

hak

a quick update once you limit is passed would be a nice thing( and of course that limit would already be h-there for all to read but it would be nice..- AND if you can put 'would be nice if' before anything done in the thread that too 'would be nice'

btw bloom, I do believe those crystals are only AR coated, so you'll need appropriate mirrors.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

16 9mm diodes up for grabs, but it looks like there is already quite the bid war going on. Also keep in mind this projector doesn't have the "G9" lenses.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

spaz-- can I assume you are correct about this ACER K750 DLP Projector
that its DOES have 9mm 445 diodes inside and*JUST* 12 of them-
this is a new one on me-

edit update --OH SNAP found the info from DTR n/m

I see it has a reserve and three days to go- very few bids to call this a 'bidding war'

are you bidding or is anyone else- has 'dibbs' been called?

there are some details i would like tio hear before considering (like the hrs on this PJ)

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I am not bidding, no. It just seem slike there will be a bid war, with the amount of bids already on it, and like you said, it hasnt met reserve

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I'll call dibbs then. This looks like it could be a lot of fun. :thanks:

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Then i call dibs on one of your possible future diodes
If you will let me, of course :D
gotta replace my 9mm that just died...RIP diode...*sob*

Ultra cheap pen lasers (feebay):

532nm green
405nm purple
650nm red

I have no idea about the power or beam specs though, but for this price...
