PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Anyone looking for YVO4 for a 532 nm DPSS project? This kind of crystal doesn't show up on ebay very often, I hadn't come across one before and have been looking a long time. These are made by ITI, the best you can get in my opinion. Size is HUGE for one of these, should produce multi-watt power. He has some other sizes listed too, I already bought what I wanted.

ITI Nd:YVO4 crystal 4X4X4mm Vanadate 808nm 1064nm | eBay

Good find Alaskan. Nice size and price.
Multi-watt power sounds reasonable with a crystal that size.
Thanks for sharing. :)

Nice, price is low for what those cost and in a finished unit, I'm having a fake cyan built by CDBEAM which will put out several watts of green and blue combined using dichros :) He is getting near completion.

Looking forward to seeing what you had built "several watts of green and blue combined using dichros" sounds very intriguing. :)

When CDROM777 is finished, I hope to see some beam shot photo's into the night sky, if he will do that for me. I'm probably going to have it sent home instead of to Iraq, I'm afraid it might not make it to me, plus I can't use it outside here.

Here is a thread on it: http://laserpointerforums.com/f49/cyan-cannon-vll-build-94999.html

God, I just noticed the thread creation date, I've been wanting this for near two years now, getting close though!

Wow, what a project. Something to look forward to when you get back home. :)

Those diodes are over 24 years old, Chris. I wonder if the seller even knows much about them. Do you have a project need for 904nm IR diodes?

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

The seller knows near nothing, you are right about that. If I could get them cheap enough for the whole lot, I had something in mind, but not at that price. I suppose, compared to original cost, it is good, but that could be said about so many things on ebay.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Of course the price goes down with time on these less than cutting edge diodes these days. If you need them, it seems he has many and might take an offer... especially if you tell him these are OLD new stock diodes.

Before this thread.... it was hit or miss at best.. threads on deals were on many boards.
so to keep track you had to sub them all. Over at PL they had .. one thread and it worked out good... THis one.. IMHO it alone provides enough to make it worth coming to LPF daily. & if you are not careful you will learn something new every day.
can I brag a bit..? (not just for me.. for YOU too)
this thread
is 221 pages long.

so much thanks to the hard core posters here-- keep up the good work!

can I use this in my resume??

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Thanks Hak for this amazing thread, I view it every time someone posts something! (So basically, almost everyday!)

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I did not ask for it to be stickied.. thus my use of 'PERMANENT THREAD' in the title and- actually it never needed one.. it 'floats' to the top on its own. and at any time you can use 'search thread' to find any item ever posted about.... the only improvement I would like to see is better posting of resolution..
.. how did it turn out? price- basic stuff = was it a good deal after all? no biggie --we can PM and ask that but....IMHO because we try to honor the 'dibbs' system -- the least the buyer can do for the rest of us .....is let us know in time how it went.

IDK, Len. Every time I ask that no one bid against me it is sniped. I've found it's better to just keep your mouth shut.

I use an auction sniper and I still haven't won the last 5 items I've tried.

Same here! And the worst is when you find something great, seems no one is bidding, then someone posts it on here and says "I don't want it, but here you go" haha.

But don't get me wrong, I would rather people post great deals more than not.

So you found & did not post about it (or call dibbs) and its
gone because another saw it and called 'no dibbs'?? and others saw that and..
sorry I don't follow the logic.

But don't get me wrong, I would rather people post great deals more than not.
agree..

I would rather they honor our system..
and @ Paul.. you say your finds get sniped?? (I assume you clearly and actually call dibbs?)and its someone here???
and you know that how???
'Pity the fool' who dishonors our systems and ways.
I would think in time someone would notice an item owned by a member ( like in sig) and it might become clear who the culprit it.

which sense of the word 'sniped' do you mean-- they used a snipe service or sniped meaning they kinda swiped it...

this was not a problem before eekbay changed the game..

they only way now you can know who a bidder is, would be by their FB count.., which can change fast.

I suppose a seller might be willing to give up at least the zip of the one who outbid you.
btw I ONLY bid now with my sniper ..except for BIN items and make offer...& could not be happier.
I tried to snipe ~25 Cree lights for hosts --won 13.. lots paid more than I did.
