PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

He responded to my all too cheap offer with a counter offer at 450, still, for what it originally cost that's not so much, is it. I'm not buying it, have other priorities. I thought I'd try, but my offer was far too low for him.

COHERENT, COMPASS 215-15 LASER HEAD, AND COMPASS 215M MICRO CONTROLLER, 1 EACH

Alternatively, lower power 115 series, beam specs are much the same otherwise:

Coherent Compass 115-M-5 Laser with 115M On-Top Controller RoHS 1104586-AF

Coherent Compass 115-M-5 Laser with 115M On-Top Controller RoHS 1104586-AG

Thanks, I saw those too, but going to wait awhile before I get one. I really like that thin beam though!

I wouldn't worry, Chris. I bet those grapes were sour anyway.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Probably very sour, and too high up to reach.

Agree--that thin, high quality beam makes even low output power very attractive.

If that thing is brand new, then $450.00 is an awesome price. Out of my budget, though, so I know what you mean.

Even used that's not a bad price, as long as it's functional and up to spec.

They're nice units, I miss my 115!

Pretty sure they are for 6328 Angstroms. I have some that are similar. At that WL they are not made to withstand much power.

Red, not much into that WL. Thanks!

Okay, not sure if this is the best place to post this but I've been prowling ebay for anymore 495/488/473nm diodes and I've also been watching the 505s. They now have the 505s as $100 and $139?? Why the price hike and who the hell is buying those? Both listings have multiple buyers.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I heard about the price increase. It didn't come as a surprise to me. I knew that once members started asking just for specific runs of the 505nm diodes, they would increase the price on them. I have no idea who is buying these same diodes I just got four of for $30.00 each. I would hope it is nobody here.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

With only 0.5mW output I would expect that the laser has alignment issues or the pump diode has gone.
2.5W pump power should be sufficient for at least 100mW+ I would say.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

OK, thanks. He said he did not believe this one was broken, but still said only 1/2 mw, which I found hard to believe, unless broken. I wanted to ask, but also post this for others who might be interested in it.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

For a 473nm DPSS with a 2.5W pump diode to be only 0.02% efficient there is definitely a problem. They should be at least 5% resulting in around 100mW.
It could be an interesting one for someone to 'fix', but you can't fix what isn't broken can you? :p

Edit: You can also tell by the size and style of the laser head that it is around 100mW as well.
