Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Hopefully they will get more, gee I would have hit that botton in a second for 495!

Well, he can ask whatever price he wants, but I don't see anyone paying that for something that cost him so little. If it were a signed one from the 1960s, it might be worth that kind of money.

Doesn't look like the price on these 488nm diodes is going down anytime soon. :(

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Paul, I'd bet you otherwise. If it's getting more available the price is almost certainly going down (in fact it already has - these used to sell for 1.5k).

That's true, but they aren't going down fast or by that much. The five that Existotem has are only $900.00, but after they are gone, what is the going price then? I'd like to see the day when they get down to $200.00 each. I still think it will be a long wait.

It's just a big novelty because it's a color we don't have in our laser collections, I actually like the look of 520nm compared to 532 but looking at both the 532 has a yellowish hue...HEY we love that yellow right, and we have plenty of blue.

I bet later one day when all the colors of the rainbow are available and inexpensive in laser diodes that these teal green colors may go the way of milky teal green paint, but time will tell.

I think the brightest sky blue that looks almost white will be a big WOW until they have been around, then people will say they just look like a weak led flashlight in a line, I want a pretty blood red around 650nm, YEA 650nm is as pretty as can be.......you know what, I really think it is. :D

Here's a new flashlight/laser holster from Fenix, available at the "Fenix Store". It may be a decent alternative to the nylon type holster we usually think of, it looks like it may fit the medium to large size hosts (30-44mm).

Interesting, Jeff. I hadn't thought about buying a holster for my laser pointers. Not a bad price either.

Hey, about the 488nm's we might be catching a break on those soon :P

Well regarding those 488 diodes, they definitely seem to have slowly gone down in price. A couple years ago weren't they going for around a few $k's? Now we can get some for around $1k so while still pricey, it's better then what's it been. Hopefully it follows the path of the 445 diodes and we get multi-watt 488 soon :D

I will wait to see how this plays out over the next weeks. I'm not holding my breath.

Gotcha:beer:
So now I don't have to worry about the Ebay "goons" wearing "black safety shades" showing up at my front door...
Even though its wasn't much money, it wasn't really a good feeling of being trapped not being able to get out..

Oh, that would never happen. I've had much experience selling items that people never paid on, and despite not allowing any returns eBay forced me to pay return shipping along with the return... One item was a ChromeBook that I was selling and the buyer got it returned because "the color was wrong" despite the fact that eBay actually populated the color. It's a really corrupt site in my experience, and sellers get ripped off left and right. :gun:
