PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I missed out on that listing, but there is another new listing for a 1.2 watt blue laser for $4.99. I think it is our old friend that has scammed so many before. AaronT was the one who posted it and made a purchase of one.

Not neglecting eye safety and planning on getting another pair of Eagle's but just on a little mission to see whats out there as iv'e posted before.
I made a mistake and bid on these before I did some searching and found out just how garbage they are:eek:
2 pairs of Wicked Lasers safety goggles glasses NO RESERVE
Thankfully someone out bid me;) but what's the deal if they took my offer? My ever first bid and don't know the rules, so would I be mandated to buy them?

At the end of the auction.. if you are still the
highest bidder you would need to pay for the
item that you bid on.
If you have been outbid and placed no other
bid you will not win the auction and not need
to pay anything.

The auction has a time limit. no offers are
accepted by the seller until that time.

Thanks laserbee, I tried to withdraw and found no option, but thankfully someone did outbid:whistle:
How far would they go to collect? Can they block other transactions of mine or take out cash from my credit card?

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

If the seller opens a Non Paying Buyer Dispute with
eBay... eBay will try to get you to pay for the item
you bid on and won.

If you still refuse to pay for the item.. eBay will put
a NPB Strike against your account. After 3 Strikes
eBay can Suspend/Freeze your Account until you
correct any issues they have with you.

They will let you know the status of any process
by eBay Messages and E-Mails.

BTW there are many ways to get Strikes against
your account if violating any eBay policies.

Peter, if you find yourself in the position to retract a bid in the future, write down the item number and go to the bottom of the page to eBay policies and look through it for how to retract. It will walk you through the process. You'll have to put down that you inadvertently added a bid that was higher than you intended.

Anyone try these yet?

I have used the round ones that do work but the bucking ones for 5 amp needs have to be very well heat sinked but the 2 amp boosters have always worked.

I suppose you could heat sink that 6 pin chip but for the 7675's I just bought these might work well as I like a compact 1 x 18350 cell build and 2 amps will let the diode live longer and save some heat.

Anyway just wondered if anyone has used these?

They state that the current can be set from 1.3 amps up to a maximum of 1.5 amps. So, I don't think you'll get 2 amps out. But, not a bad price for a boost driver with soft start as long as you have a diode in that narrow current range.

Gotcha:beer:
So now I don't have to worry about the Ebay "goons" wearing "black safety shades" showing up at my front door...
Even though its wasn't much money, it wasn't really a good feeling of being trapped not being able to get out..

If it's for real, not a bad deal at all. I'd love to measure some for wavelength, but my laser budget has been used up this month.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Holy crap, we're probably at the biggest new-wavelength-spree ever. If the 589nm diode turns out to be real we are almost looking at a full rainbow.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Well it makes sense that they would turn loose the 505 and 475 first because 495 and 589 are the real unicorns, what kind of power is that 589 supposed to make? 75mw of that sunshine yellow would be pretty amazing.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I do not think a 589nm diode is in the cards for us... but, I did just order a 495nm. With any luck it'll be way under its reported wavelength and I won't have to spend over a grand on a 488nm.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Maybe, Zach. But, I think it more likely that it is just 7nm lower than the 502nm I've been seeing lately. If it is composed like these diodes, it may get as low as 492nm, but 488nm is probably not going to happen. Let me know, as I am always interested in new WLs.
