Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

This is an interesting high pulse power 532nm laser, this seller is in Wisconsin, wondering if this might be Cyparagon's sale?

JDS Uniphase Self Q Switched Laser Optics Physics Package Assembly 532nm Output | eBay

I'm pretty sure this guys name is Chris and he used to be a member here under the name of Heruuscience (Maybe I'm wrong). He gets a lot of his stuff from government auctions (and probably other sources now). Not a bad guy at all. You can usually use the "make an offer" button if you're interested in something.

Ah, I thought maybe you had moved- didn't know Carbondale was close(ish) to Ft. Wayne.

Nope, that is certainly not cyp :) that guy usually has a lot of interesting stuff though.

It's actually not very close...for some reason I thought it was closer...lol. And I've had that q-switched greenie in my watch list for a while! Not enough power for my needs (need to pump a dye laser...) but interesting nonetheless! That guy always has cool stuff for sale, but a lot of what he sells are parted out B+W units. :p

Edit: That guy is Heruur?? Wow didn't know that!

Probably kind of nice (can't see the shipping cost coz I'm not in the US):
Microvision Showwx Laser Projector | eBay
It's a pico projector with some nice stuff in it (Direct doubling green module, and 2 3.8, one red and one blue, dichros). Could probably be used for a DIY white build. Item location is Maumee, Ohio. :)

Good luck with that dye laser... Where did you get the mirrors?

It's a fully built ~600nm dye laser that's been sitting for years in the lab I work in. Our 40W q switched greenie was destroyed in a fire but my boss is going to let me play with it if I can find something to pump it with.

If that is the same guy as heruoscience, then I've bought a bunch from him over the years. Always came through on stuff and great prices over the years.

I bought a yellow HeNe from him with power supply for $100, bought a BLM-100 473 for about $200, bought lots of red HeNe from him and have about 50 9mm diodes from him, he boiught out some laser company and sold a ton of stuff.

Only problem was that sometimes he was very slow to ship. He got a bad rep from that, but otherwise no problem afaik.

Hope the backgroup helps, IF it is the same guy :)

On gearbest you can get 2 18350 AW IMR's for $5, so a lot cheaper

rlsales on eBay is highly recommended for
cells. I don't buy from GearWorst anymore.
They sold some malfunctioning gear and
refused to do anything besides keeping over
half the money. Really lousy people and
lousy policy.

OK, I found something that might be interesting to someone.

Pardon me if I missed a important detail. There looks to be three of these (LINK) Nd:YAG? 532nm lasers?
I don't know much about these so I'll just throw it out here. It looks like they need 3-phase to.

Looks like either xenon short arc or flash
lamp pumped, nice optics and BBO, and 3
phase alright, possibly convertible to single
phase, maybe not, depends on the wiring and
power energies involved in the pumping, or
can run on a phase converter or VFD

wood bee a nice "little" project for
someone with time and loads of space, just
be ready to have your little heart broken if it
don't work!

I got 4 panny 18650's from gearbest with no problems, but those have been my only dealings with them. Just seem like a typical chinese junk shop.

And I can also vouch for rlsales- I have gotten severI batteries from them (him?) And they have all been great.

Indeed. It was a good thing it was paid
with PayPal, but their "protection" policy
mostly protects PayPal. They require
return post to China and tracking was over
$50. That was the cheapest option by far,
but it did feel good to stiff it back to
GrerWorst after what they did. Then more
pestering PayPal to get the refund once it
had been delivered. Credit card companies
might not reverse charges either if they
view the transaction as risky. It's best
to avoid in the first place. Stick to
simple stuff they can't mess up, not
electronics, and really cheap stuff that
doesn't matter if it works or is easily
repaired. Personally, though, I will be
avoiding entirely.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Expander looks like a good one but kinda big to hang on the end of a laser pointer, if that is your project, unless you like monster sized pointers like I do, that is. Important to know the size of the beam width you want to shoot through it so you know whether at 10X the output lens is big enough when your beam is expanded that much. The diameter of the input lens must be larger than the beam of your laser too, of course, but this one appears to have a huge input, no issue there. An input lens that big is awesome for some of the multimode 520nm laser diodes, but I'm not sure how much attenuation or loss you would get at 520, vs the 532nm/1064nm it is coated for. If you think you could use it, snap it up, that's a cheap price for that kind of quality, even used, new it would cost far too much for a hobbyist. If you buy it and for some reason (other than there is something wrong with it) you don't want to keep it, I will buy it off you for that price later, as long as you take care of the coatings.
