I am very disappointed as well that O-like isn't selling those old 200's anymore. Can't wait to read your review vitalyx! Do you have an LPM?

ZRTMWA, I don't have an LPM. I might mail it to someone for testing, if I'll consider it to be a bit underpowered. And RMA it, if this is obvious.

the 200mw version from dx only ouput ~100mw but they have very good divergence. for a few bucks cheaper than the o-like 80-100mw modules you can have a decent 100mw module.

I know there is a nice LONG thread on those DX modules, but just curious, were many people satisfied with that 200mW module from DX.

I found one with 3.0-4.2v... http://o-like.com/b2b_cpinfo.asp?id=886

These are for RCR123... so does that mean they're the old/good version???

that's the only 150mW module I've ever seen on their site. I bet he ordered that one, and got the new style.

new O-Like version 3.0v - 3.7v max - Working current 1000mA

If a 3.7 batt is used & fully charged it may peak arround 4.2v killing these newer modules if poorly designed!
So my advise is to use a 3.0v batt for these newer modules

Best branded 3v batt found so far is a Tenergy Li-Ion RCR123A 3.0V 900mAh (Item Number: 30201) tho will still last under 1 hour with 1000mah
draw from these new 200mw O-Like Modules

One thing I have just noticed is on the DX 200mw equivalent It consumes only 250mA not 1000mA
However a DX poster has stated it actually draws 580-600mA so Spec needs verifying on DX

Fact still remains, the older modules were better,I think the O-Likes should get reduced or recalled for the better modules.

They do have the threading. Smells like the same ones from DX.

^ Uhm, and this module type looks a damn pain you-know-where, to try to turn them in focusable ones ..... at least, at first sight ..... (aaargh)

At least they aren't selling crappy 150mW's. I love how the beam pic of the 150mW is from jayrob and the review is from Daguin.

that was the old module, the OP got the new style 150mW, which looks a lot like the DX modules.

I was thinking about buying a 100mw laser from o-like. But after reading this i was wondering, are the new modules in the lasers? or are the old modules still being used? Also should i look to other cheaper companies if the modules are actually DX modules? or should i still go with o-like?

The Optotronics "premium" pens use these same modules.
Perhaps Susie got the "good" ones while DX is selling the other crap.
We will just have to wait and see.
I may be getting one.
