New O-Like green modules

Couldn't resist. Used self-timer on my camera and took a couple of pics from different angles (again just turning the module on for about three seconds).
Bear in mind that this is onset of Russian winter with temperature outside below freezing point already and humidity of 48% (meaning no more fogs now :cryyy: ), so it's probably even lower inside. Also these are daylight pics:

When do you get your host? The next thing to find out is how long the battery runs but I am already convinced myself to buy it. I was worried that a simple little cr2 could run the thing and it seems to run just fine.

Some more pics:

Well a 3.0V battery is about 3.7V and a 3.7V battery is about 4.2V when fully charged so maybe they just switched the insturctions over to uncharged battery levels.

hei.. i am interested in the 200mw module.... BUT i don't know if it is really a GOOD QUALITY module. it seems like the DX module.... the same!! probably.. only choosen the best unit... but i am afraid that this module can not reach over 180mw ( ir included)... because it is an overpowered unit.... not made for work to much time at that power!!! maybe it is 180mw for some time.. then decrease....after weeks.. or months...

laze_doctor;

That driver looks identical to the one I have in my 100mw DX greenie.

The pass transistor (D882) in post #73, is the same one that gets too hot in my driver testing with a full 4.2 VDC lithium-ion.

You need to drop the voltage with a 1N4006 diode or resistor to a little over 3 VDC.

Running without it can damage the transistor,
and blow the IR diode.

Does anyone know if these have IR filter? I'm guessing no since they have other modules right beside them that state they contain an IR filter.

They are not filtered.
I may be purchasing one soon to try out and test since everyone here seems curious to know the real output power- including myself.
They should be good though...

Where can I buy a small IR filter? Also how much of a power loss should I expect with one?

Okay so my 150mW old style module arrived today. And as promised, it IS an old style module. Only problem is there's a note included which says to use 3.0-3.7v.

I wonder if it's a mistake. The email I posted on the previous page clearly said it was 3.0-4.2

The old style is better, but I would still use the 1N4006 diode to drop the voltage.
