New 9mm 445 diodes






Well pontiacg5 hasn't been on in months and only made 5 of them afaik

Glad to see Jrob is making them, ouch on the price though
How much could you make them for if you were to use aluminum?

Even if M=H, DTR is still selling H diodes for 10 bucks more,
so its reasonable that these could sell for 10 more too.

With some of my kits, I offer a press fit heatsink design option. And in most cases, it can be fit for the 9mm size.

So the entire heatsink would be the module... :beer:

Its not a New Host. I Put it in the same Host as my Super Freak build as i have a few of those and heatsinks already made up.

Iam waiting on my other hosts to come in to give it a proper home.:)

Mailed with N1chia today. Thought i am going to ask pricing on their NDB7875 transverse mutimode diode. they mailed me back with this €2830. So i thought ok how many are there is a batch? I mailed they replied: PER PIECE :wtf:

I thought i lost my mind :p

C4sio must be buying em per 10000000000000000 pieces or something lol

Hey, so I got mine in the mail today!

I have a 9mm aluminum pressfit module... but the diode won't fit. It's because the lens holder is wider than the head of the diode. Anyone have any ideas? Does the lens holder come off and then just pop back on? Don't want to break anything =p
 
^ If your module cant accept it with the lens which i dont know why you want to use the stock lens how it is since its not focus to infinity you must remove it.:)

TO remove it Its Very tight on there. You must cut away at the glue as much as you can. Get it good then put the Lens part in a vice and grab the diode with pliers and wiggle it till you hear the glue cracking off. Keep working it and it will come loose.

Just be careful you dont pull the can off or crack the window or something like that.

The lens is on there pretty good. But the glue is brittle so it breaks easy. SO a little wiggling like i said above and you will feel it come loose. Dont try to pop it off in one shot. Crack the glue on one side then move to another side and crack it there and so on. Just try to get as much off you can with an ExactO knife first.:beer:

So b ecause I don't have one of Jay's G2s but I have DTRs, I instead tested out my new 9mm diode with a Aixiz glass. So far, at 1A, I was getting 1.12W out, and at 1.4A, I was getting 1.56W out, and that was AFTER it had warmed up a while. These things are pretty awesome - if I was using a G2, I would probably expect almost 2W with 1.4A in! Gonna do some further testing.

WOW! At 1.87A, I was getting 2W with an Aixiz glass D:

Hey,

A) I think it is incredibly poor form to post pricing (particularly that precise) that you have received via private email, in a public forum. This is precisely the kind of behavior that turns off manufacturers from dealing with individuals in the hobby community. I'm not trying to pick on you, but this one of the reasons that hobbyists often can't get solid replies from manufacturers, or are met with "What's your company name and URL?". N1chia has chosen not to publicly post their pricing. By inquiring privately, and then posting publicly, you're circumventing their intentions and being very unprofessional. It's unnecessary too, as you could have just as easily said "It costs far more than we can afford" or something like that. If someone wanted to PM you for the precise figure, for some reason, you could PM it to them privately.

B) Since you did mention the figure, I'll just comment that this shouldn't really surprise anyone. When have single diode purchases from N1chia ever been priced under $3k?
