It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

Man I can't wait to get some of those bad boys...

Bout time we got a high powered red! Orange even! (and 5.6mm)

Probably a really wide beam, but I don't care, I want one!

Me, too, if lazeerer managed to get 550mW with a diode of supposedly 300mW, imagine with this of 500mW

The hard part is waiting to be bought at a decent price, because you can buy this diode now,
but the price at the official distributor is very expensive :undecided:

Back when they did a GB of these 500mW's on PL (price was around $500 if I recall) I remember they were talking about horrible lines. Ready to enter a new era of the laser hobby?

Man it'd be awsome if we could push these to ~400-420mw easily. I think one of these ~400mw would pair nicely with a 100mw green module in the RGB projector I have in the planning stages. It'd eliminate the need to use 2xLPC-826s combined with a cube which just sounds like a pain.

^^^^^ sorry for the off topic but.... elektrofreak told me something a while ago that i will share with you concerning RGB color balance... it makes total sense and takes a little stress off lol...

the color the audience sees is the color the they assume you wanted. so ignore all the ratios. put in the most of every color you can afford. and turn your colors up to the max and let the software do the mixing. the audience loves bright beams the most. color mixing is a background type thing.

back on topic..

Yeah I wasn't thinking about the brightness difference between 640ish and 660. I plan on building my own laser modules with flexmod drivers so I could dial down the power if needed unless I decide to take the easy (and pricier) way out and buy prebuilt modules.

Built another one tonight an it seems the efficiency is about the same. 336mW @ 450mA with a G-2 lens.

Also got a response on the 500mW diodes. They should be available in 6-8 weeks.;)

I just got an e-mail from ElectronicsDosible (e-bay link that was posted above), and he told me this:

Hello Jay,

Thanks for your inquiry!

The 500mw 638nm laser diode will in our stock by 8-10 days..once avaialble we would inform you.

Regards,
Robinson

Was it the same guy that told you 6 to 8 weeks?

^^^^ Sweet! start donations for another murder fund anyone? :)

I think Angelos got the 500mW model :shhh: :p

^^This idea we have already excluded ;)
The serialnumbers are identical on the diode from Angelo and DTR, so it should be the same 300mW versions.

Edit: Ops, i just realised you made a joke :D
