Not < $30, but you can rip out the beam shaping pair from the non-functioning 473nm lasers. The AR coating is for IR, but not terrible for red. Plus you get a powerful 1.4W IR diode, optics, power supply, and a great labby host. Total cost is about $47 shipped.
how much do you want for itI've got one of those prism pairs sitting around. I got mine same as you mentioned. I'll try it out...or sell it if someone wants it.
so do you guys think that this will correct the beam enough to use in a scanner?
Could one fix the divergence by bending a mirror? I've been wanting too try this but I don't have the materials nor tools needed to test.
