I guess you could use a red MXDL pen like the one DTR used. Just send off your aixiz module to someone with a lathe so it can be cut down to size.
 
I've got two of these on the way, pretty excited to give them a try. :D

Also, maybe one of the members with a lathe could run off a load of downsized Aixiz holders? , i'd be in for at least 5 as the MXDL hosts are sweet.
 
I'm interested as well but can't risk doing the gb myself. Perhaps someone else with more experience in these matters can :D

What diameter do they need to be turned down to?
 
Murder diodes arrived today. Testing on the first is done. I should have time to test the second by Friday night. It doesn't LED even at very high current; it drops in power with increased current a lot like the ebay "false alarm 638" a few weeks ago. There does seem to be some degradation though that results in a permanent power loss of ~30%.

What current did you push it to?

And did you find a 'sweet spot'?

You may need a bigger host/battery for the higher power diodes.
