Howto: USB Soundcard DAC (EZAudDAC) with Windows 7

Yeah it's all channels, but only in laser software. Of course I am running 64-bit Windows 7 which could easily be screwing me. I don't have a single computer running 32bit Windows except my one XP laptop that I use for shows.

so silvershot and i worked on this for over 3 hours we didnt get but i think we made some progress.

before i was only getting -.007 every time no no matter what. now i am able to get it up to around .2v but no higher...

IT WORKS HOLY CRAP I AM SO HAPPY IT WORK I HAVE OUTPUT ON ALL CHANNELS :drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

lol thanks so much guys without the driver update and 7 channel file i dont think i could of got it to work thanks so much BB +500000 if i could

dont know if you saw but silvershot did. if you haven't already i would ad both the driver and 7 channel max.wav file to the OP.

Are you guys using 64 bit win7? I've still got crosstalk issues on my system even with the new driver..

yep you missed it the page before this one...believe it or not they way i finally got it to work was plugging it in over and over and playing with the pots..eventually it just worked. but i think that driver is a big part before the driver i couldnt get any difference in the voltage. after it it was small but there was a difference...

Mines definitely something in the software somewhere.. I'm using the one I built when I made the tutorial originally.. those pots have been set for 3 years. It works great in XP.

Doesn't help after using the new driver, rebooting, and trying a different USB port (along with the other speaker setup)? Sometimes it needs to reinitialize stuff I think.

i have 64bit professional

make sure to update the driver from the device manager not the sound thing.

It does just seem to randomly and magically just start working and all the steps you took sort of jumble together... I know my final resolution was removing the C-media drivers and using the windows drivers.

Glad to hear you both got it working...

Do you have a laser to test it with Silver or are you just using the voltmeter?

Nope I don't have one. However, bennet has an analog green unit he could test. I'm probably grabbing a 532 laserwave dpss doing 410mW for $350 today. It could be at my door within the next week. Then I can test my setup too.

Actually I didn't try a different USB port, I'll try that in a bit. It's odd that everything works fine with .wav files and in the sound card settings, but in LFI I get jumbled garbage.. My problem may be unrelated to the issue being discussed here, it could be settings in LFI. I've double-checked them a couple times and found nothing out of the ordinary, but I could be overlooking something.. probably something stupidly simple.

At least one of you has tried actually using LFI with a projector in Win7 64 right?
