DATA HAS BEEN POSTED NDG7475T - Lasers Wiki

There is a discussion of the diode here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/new-nichia-9mm-1w-520nm-diode-86764.html

Please see the previous diode group buy for more detail in what this involves.

http://laserpointerforums.com/f55/gb-473nm-diode-information-giveaway-84526.html

We will not be killing this diode. Once all the information has been received it will be sent to a participant of the GB to keep.
Each 10$ you donate to the GB counts as one entry.
Daguin, or another trusted member will draw the winner.

I think the idea is nice but if contributions are made and we expect info in return, how do we ensure that we get the info we want? A random selection from the donors might lead to the diode going to someone without the skills and/or tools to get the information we are interested in.
Edit:
DUH... so the testing is done BEFORE the diode goes away... I get it. Oops. Ignore this post.

I buy the diode and have it sent to myself. The equipment I have includes a NIST traceable Coherent Fieldmax laser power meter, and a Science surplus spectrometer; after the testing it then gets sent out for someone to keep.

It's the same format as the other diode GB's, I record current, voltage, power, temperature, and wavelength. :)

Edit: I see your edit. :p

Gotcha... I took a look at the other threads and figured that out.
Seems like a cool idea. I wish I didn't already spend too much on lasers this season. I would totally like to participate.
Good luck to everyone else. :)

I want in for $10, maybe more later. what a sweet find, too bad about the price. As you pointed out, it is cheaper than a good 1W DPSS 532, but the point of diode lasers over DPSS IMO is to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and naturally to reduce components. I suppose this diode does all but one of those, and 1W of stable non-mode-hoppy 520 light would be sublime. I can only presume it's multi-mode, here's hoping it's better than a mitsubishi or even a 445nm 9mm diode

that ebay listing says "4 available / 3 sold in 24 hours"

beam divergence is 11ºx46º. For reference, the 9mm 445nm are 14ºx44º.

Yesterday, there was 10 available. They are going fast... (and the price was raised ;) its $1K now)

I just sent techhood another request on the full datasheet.

I asked about a price drop (he did it before), lets see what happens.... ;)

$1K seems pretty harsh atm
