I will agree with the pot option I think it is important. The fixed restistors I would say are good for newbies that cant afford to lose a diode it's order diode order driver set at exactly this make laser never change laser. Having a pot makes changing things alot easier without soldering.
I paralleled 3 760's tonight and it doesnt look doable... They get hot very quick I had better luck with the dual 1050's I thaught they would run cooler but they dont that I can see they were stable at 2.4 on 4 diodes for only about 7 seconds then they dump to about 500ma. the dual 1050's would last about 20-25 secs b4 dumping. There must be something going on with how they react together at that current.
Sorry Ben But why would you be playing with ben boost designs while your on vacation!!! Where did ya go??? Cumon! Cant be that boreing!! (Sorry I dont get vacations..) I'm sending out your driver tomorrow so it should be there soon after ya get back...
So another thing I was thinking was is there another ic in the same package that we could be replacing this one with without changing the design that would give us better current out with less heat? I know some drivers are going to 3A nowaday's and the components are very small so just a thaught. I like being able to make my own drivers and adjusting them how I want.
I like this driver alot or I wouldnt have spent all the cash to make it but it is lacking in areas that the Diodes are dictating these day's.
Here I preped a saik heatsink for bonding and to make sure the caps didnt short out...
