Just out of curiosity I wanted to know people's favorite lasers and their dream laser (if they have one).

My favorite is my new Rayfoss. Not really sure about my dream laser... Probably a really strong blu-ray or an even stronger greenie

My green lab lasers are my favorite DPSS lasers.

Dream laser, a multi watt argon.....
 
Favorite laser would have to be the Rigel series yellow lasers from CNI/Laserglow. My Rigel-5 is definitely my favorite laser I have ever owned.

My dream would be a pen sized 488nm cyan DPSS laser. I hear this is possible in labbys now, so we just need CNI to build the pen! :D
 
Yeah 2007Revolution - I have one in a labby, and its nice... My favorite right now though is my Vega-10 593.5nm.

Dream laser? I need a 612nm HeNe. I need one so bad. :D
 
I had a great time this afternoon visiting with ScopeGuy20 and ezpak0970. Ezpak0970 asked me this question. I figured out that I cannot answer it with just one. There are too many "categories" of lasers. I have a favorite in each category.

My favorite laser is my 40mw yellow.

Traditionally, my dream laser was a yellow that was about 40mw, but since that's already happened, my new dream laser is a 488nm pen, followed by a true orange pen, followed by a 612nm hene, which I think is the only one likely to happen.
 
I bet that CNI -could- make a 488nm PGL or pen. Probably there's just not much demand for it because 473 'hits the blue spot' of the market for portables... Not many folks but laser nerds such as ourselves saying, "Well, I want a sorta blue sorta green!"

... I'd probably be in line for that though, too. Meanwhile I have 7mW of 488nm of DPSS - and hopefully soon a 2214-SL ArIon.

As for the 612nm HeNe, well... Anyone for a dumpster diving trip behind REO in Boulder, CO? I'm nearby, and I've considered it :)
 
Assuming favorite means what I now have, that would be my 532nm RPL-400. My dream is for high powered red and yellow RPLs, so I'd have R,G,B and Y - all RPLs!

My Fave are the 50mW green modules, they have a nice visable beam, cheap & nearly allways come overspec.

Dream would be a 12mm module sized multi line argon. That runs on a CR123a:)
 
My favorite laser is my 50mW CNI 473nm labby. It actually produces over 100mW of beautiful sky-blue light.

My dream laser would be a Coherent Verdi. Ring Cavity IIRC, 532nm, top notch beam specs and stability. But it's about $xx,xxx out of my price range.
 
I'm in the same arena as Dave. I have my favs. in different categories. Diode, He-Ne, etc.

My dream laser is somewhat fuzzy too. So many choices. I have thought "what if I won the lottery, what would I buy first"? Probably a full color multiline Argon/Krypton Ion Laser.:thinking: or maybe............? LOL
 
favorite so far? Maybe one of my labbies, I like the keyswitched blu-ray. My dream laser is a many-watt argon.

My favorite for now is my TEC 6X labby.

My dream laser would be a "all visible wavelengths" 1W pen-sized laser (not RGB)....

My favorite laser is a toss up between my multiline argons, my huge HeNe, and my Spyder 1 200 green handheld, they each have unique features :)

My dream laser could be many things, I'm on the lookout for a HeCd, Cu Vapor, Kr, ArKr, etc - gas lasers are awesome :)
