I think its a good idea until the excitement dies down in a couple of months, and we can re-merge them again

Rob

I think a separate area would be nice if.... we could merge all the current 445nm threads into it... we have them all over the place...LoL.

1 week 1 day till i get mine woot woot..

We can move the various threads into the new board.

That was the main idea behind this poll.

Peace,
dave

Makes sense, these are now creating a new intoxicating infatuation. I must have one as well! So I end up reading all I can on them. Let's get it all together, eh? -Glenn

Sorry, I only vote on ban polls.

J/K, I voted yes as well. A lot is going on right now and this would make things easier, at least somewhat.

While I voted yes, and a separate board would be a good idea, we could use the 473nm board since much doesn't go on in there :)

Still a separate board would be much better.

We don't have a 473nm board. We have a "Blue, Yellow, and Other Colored Lasers" Board. The problem I see is that the DPSS, 473nm lasers are VERY different from these 445nm diodes. If we don't separate them, the information and advice could be confusing.

Valid point.

voted yes!

very good idea dave! now that's a THINKING mod and what a mod is all about!:beer::beer::beer::beer:

Yeah.... good logical point...I think it would be a good idea to have a
separate board for these Blue non DPSS Laser Diodes like we do for
Red and Green Lasers... It would make finding info and data a lot
easier...

BTW... they did something similar on PL yesterday... IIRC..

I voted yes, but only cause, this way, Dave can make some mod works, moving and ordering all the threads ..... j/k :p :D

On the serious side, they are becoming available so quickly, that a dedicated place with all the possible tests and data in a single section, can be really helpful for a lot of peoples .....

Only one way to vote IMO...

YES!

I don't want to miss a single new post or thread on this subject just yet. Great idea.

The 445nm diodes are closer in nature to violet diodes than they are to the 473nm DPSS lasers. At least from my perspective, which is admittedly skewed, I'd rather put them in with the violet...but I know that will confuse others, so I understand not wanting to do it that was as well.

Either way, decided sooner rather than later is probably better...it's easier to find the posts to move while there are fewer of them, that's for sure.

I thought similarily the same thing. We need a 'charts and data' section. With subections inside that with all the different wavelengths. Just my 2 cents.

PS: I voted yes.
