Nicely done...:gj:

are you limiting the LD current with those large resistors...
And are all the LDs running off the 2 Drivers to the right...

What is the final beam power and at what total current...
What are the dimensions of the main aluminum plate...

Sorry for all the questions.... I only ask a lot of questions
when something intrigues me...

When I saw the thread title , I thought "andy's upto his old tricks again" , sure enough I was right haha.

And kudos for using balancing resistors, something people all to often omit.

One thing that astonishes me is how you align everything and how it could be simple. What method do you use?? I usually have issues hanging a frame on the wall even with a leveler so I'm trying to imagine how I can align just 2 lasers properly.

 what's the total output? 8W?
:lasergun:

no idea i cant run it at full power as i dont have a psu with enough juice or a power meter that will go that high.

the max i can run it at on my bench psu is 6.2v @ 5.1amps

It looks like you finally get those Flexmods working.

yes just ;)

yep a resistor on each diode

4 diodes per driver

no idea on power, ive told the buyer to get a 9v 10amp psu to run it

size is something like 90mm wide by 110mm long

for a start ive done it many times before -

Arctos Multi Diode Array

all holes are drilled in the right place as i have a milling machine and you need a bit of smoke to see the beams easy.

I am not an expert on the laser system. So when i saw your pictures,i have many questions. It seems that the laser diode is different from others.Where is the laser diodes?Which part is the scanner? How do put this unit in the laser cabinet?I am a question girl:D
Thank you!

oh .... o.O the laser diodes are "behind" the lenses and "puts out" the beam
there is no scanner...
wth is a laser cabinet

in my traditional thought,if the laser system is without scanner,it doesn`t work.you really broaden my outlook!

My only concern is the placement of the flexmod output IC's

Thier only half on the aluminum slab, and from what i know about those IC's, the actual DIE's are just above where the pins enter the body, so its only thermal transmission that's carrying the heat up-to where the heat-sink is?.
Kinda like heat-sinking the back of an Aixiz module and not the business end.

it's a high powered module he made with 8 laser diodes. there are 4 diodes in each bank. if you follow the wires, they lead you to each laser diode. he said he has it sold, maybe he will answer if he knows how it will be used.... Hey andy, is this in fact going into a scanner????

michael.

yes,i wonder how it work in the lasershow?how to connect it to the laser software to make different animation? It`s a big lesson for me:)

Nice set up Andy, have you measured the PO yet ?
+2 for sharing ;)
