Thats defintely true with these line shaped laser outputs, the mirrors would have to have an edge in the horizontal plane that does the knife edging, so they'd need different mouting systems. I'm not sure that that would require the unit to be larger though.
the raw beams from olike lens are 5mm high by 1mm wide
so if you knife edge them the other way round they would be ---- so 20mm long.
it just wouldnt work
I always love seeing the precision that your builds entail! They always inspire me for builds, I just wish I had the machining shop you had.
trust me the the ive done it is the best way
i also wish i had a machining shop, i have a small bottom of the range milling machine in a garage
Wide beams are generally beneficial for laser show applications, since the goal is to have them seen. You usually want as large of a beam diameter as you can get without exceeding what your galvo mirrors can handle without losses. Laser shows usually don't need 'perfect' beams either which is why setups like this work quite well.
