Ebonics-A poor excuse for a failure to grasp the basics of english. When in doubt, throw an "izzle" sound in the middle of any word of just string random thoughts together and insinuate that they actually mean something. When backed into a corner, you can always claim that it has something to do with a sort of symbolism or is a defining trait that makes your race great, versus own up to the fact that it is essentially laziness at it's finest.

I'm fairly sure ebonics is meant to be african american way of speaking. Sounds somewhat racist to me?

Jake, cut him a bit of slack now. I think he has taken enough flak at this point. My head hurts from reading his messages too sometimes.... but that pain could easily become outweighed by the pain of following this thread ;)

Try2die, just take the time to edit your posts before you press reply from now on. I do, with almost every post I write. It's clear that you CAN write good articulate messages when you want to, so it's really just about making the decision to do so. It's worth it, as you'll get a lot more of a positive reaction from others.
 
Yeah, I'm done with it. I've done my part. Try2die, you can clearly post a coherent message. You proved it via PM, even though it may be a hassle for you.

Like I said via pm, some common grammar goes a long way.
 
The goal of my "translation" was to show try2die how retarded his post appears, when it can actually be shortened, and convey the same meaning.

Dave relax. You need to slow down when you type, and try to be clear. It seems you are writing as you think. Try to think before you write. We will understand you better. Also do not mix jokes with real questions, because we cannot tell the difference. Its OK that your English is not so good, we help everyone. But you have to be clear so we can give you the right answer. If you want to say a joke, then add a smilie :yh: :p so we know when you are joking, and when you are not.
 
Even CNI didn´t get an answer from Soraa.. I don´t understand these guys.
 
Check out Mistubishi, they have stopped making any commercial tv's and/or displays under 65 inches now, to focus on large venue stuff and BIG home theater/tv displays. They released a 65 and 75 inch LASER tv's in 2009 for about 4k new retail, (saw one sell for 450 new on another auction site a few days ago, missed it, dang it) their new model in 75 inch is out now. All I can find about the laser light engine is it contains a class 4 laser device, no duh, not much to go on there.

But this shows where all this going, yes, getting one of each color is coming from pico's, but many and higher powered stuff is coming in bigger stuff too. Portable and home theater/conference projectors, tv's, pico's, comp monitors, even saw a pico built into a camera already for instant showing of your pics, all will be part of this transformation in display technology.

Eventhough we are about a year away from seeing stuff we can use around here at a semi-reasonable price, I do not think it will be 5 years before we find cheap diodes in color choice to harvest, I think in 5 years they will be common in display stuff ready to be thrown out or upgraded like old drives and game systems are now.

I haven't been around in a while, but have been keeping track of alot of laser progress and products out and to be soon released, and the laser hobby enthusiast will be having alot of fun for little money in a few short years. Technology only increases in speed, so the more we know, the fatser we make it better, and so on.

If the diode exists, and if there is a fab for it, production and design has to start at least three years out from the lab product. Odds are this company has one moderate sized expitaxy machine of some sort and there is not even production yet. Where is the chip foundry?

Second of all, samples and pre-production are only going to investors who invest 10-100s of millions of dollars, not guys off the street. The exclusive customers will have rights to all production for two or three years, minimum.

Third, nothing will be in the dumpster. Trust me, NOTHING will be in the dumpster. At one of my previous employers, the dumpster was used to mislead competitors. Nothing of any use made it into the dumpster, but a lot of materials that looked very much like working projects did. Modern electron microscopes can take a diode ""apart", layer by layer. No one in his right mind would discard even the edge of the wafer.

Facilities are in Goleta, CA and Fremont, CA. I don't know exactly which functions are in each location, but the general split is that production is in Fremont while R&D is in Goleta. I don't know anything about their timeline as far as production, but this isn't an amateur operation. They know what they're doing, and have demonstrated excellent devices, devices which are some of the best in existence and which require very mature processes to achieve. I don't know the full scale of the operation, but I'm sure it's quite a lot bigger than 1 machine.

3 year timeline sounds fine, the trouble is we don't know when that 3 years started. Soraa was/is extremely secretive about their stuff, many didn't really even know they existed until they were demonstrating some of the best diode results of any company anywhere. People in the industry knew, of course, but compared to the big names they weren't on the radar for most people, to many they seemingly came out of nowhere.

True. No one off the street is getting their hands on a sample.

Yep, definitely true. I've participated in the reverse engineering of semiconductor devices, you can reconstruct the entire structure of a diode. Every sample, even accidents that are seemingly useless, is kept and cataloged. There's nothing interesting in the trash.
 
While I agree with the posts above, I think that there would be a chance that CNI gets a sample of these diodes.
 
I'm just waiting for green laser diodes to hit the market en masse. Even if we do see this blue laser diode sometime soon, the odds are the 4W will have beam specs similar to a high powered red. The single mode is something to look forward to, though. All one can do is wait. There is no point fussing when and how they will hit the market; these are things we can not change. We just have to keep our eyes peeled for when they do.

When you say high power red what are you referring to? If you mean like a LOC diode then I think you are dreaming. I cant imagine the 4W will be single mode like almost all can style high power reds.

I'm guessing he means *really* high powered reds.

Like 250mW + 635s, or 500mW+ 650s.

They're multi-mode, and have horrible beam specs.

Yeah that must be it. when I read it I thought it was a reference to the common high power red diodes here.
 
From what I've read about Mitsubishi laser TV's is that all 3 wavelengths are high powered DPSS based lasers. Like these...

Maybe this is the way newer technology is heading.

BTW I was joking about dumpster diving. Even if they actually contained laser waste, they would be highly secured, obviously.
