470nm diode

They are different. The 'good old projector 445's are 5.6mm and are multimode and do up to 1.8-2W but you get a line output

The 'new' 450nm diodes are 3.8mm, single mode, and will do around 50mW I believe, but have good beam specs.. but i'm not sure anyone has 'pushed' any of them yet. These are most likely what's used in pico projectors currently.

The single-mode blues have "ok" beam specs. They're better than the blue multi-modes, but they're not as good as a 405 or 658 - at least from what I've seen.

The newer 80mW 450 diodes can be run at 200mW per the manufacturer (via voice discussion with Sales Manager). I have one, but it's just an inventory part. If they say it can go to 200mW, a good LPF rule would say it can go to 300 or 400mW pushing it. It must be a better wafer/ die. Specs are 440nm to 450nm typical, to 460nm max.

Actually it'd have the added benefit that the harder you pushed them, the higher the wavelength would get.

Laser showed up. I ran by and got it out of the mailbox at lunch. But i'm at work, so no tests until tonight. heh.

Whelp... This is one of those, "Man, I hate it when i'm right...." moments but... SCIENCE! doesn't lie. :(

Measured 452.4nm at 27mW

I unscrewed the lens to take a peek and it is indeed a 3.8mm diode. I know I can get these particular 3.8mm 450nm raw diodes for around $60 each in quantity.. so Unfortunately, you kinda got ripped on $200 for this one Ablaze.

:( well that's sad but it is what we expected....mabye some day thanks for testing it qumefox

Not really sure. It's leaving out the zeros for some reason. I noticed that too. Though if anyone thinks i'm playing with the numbers.. I'll happily redo it and record a video of the testing.

That was a disappointment, but as expected...
