+2 for the OP nice find and share
19 days to Texas.
With not new batts(barely making 1.5vdc)
1)92 mW
2)72mW
3)41 mW
4) DOA
will do further checking and also try with new batts and a single 10440=
The DOA may work= but even so-- good deal- they make Heatsinks designed for use with this size pen.
a few of these wil go into my mini lumia box-
power will be 18650s- should have long runtime.
putting another into a RGV Spiro mini.
update-using a 3.75VDC 18650 #3 went from 41 up to 57mW
the DOA is still afaik DOA.
The 92mW (#1) jumped up to 105mW

PHRs IMHO

UPDATE
contacted the seller and they offered a free replacement --no questions asked--SWEET

Anyone got any tips for getting the module out of the host? I've got the silver bit off but struggling to find a safe way to get it out.

I got my 2 532's , not even worth breaking out the kenometer. Look like a couple of mw each.

As for removing the module, heat it up to the point where it hurts to touch, but not burn you, and it'll pull out with some long nose pliers.

I started to open the 405 defective one I got- there is a foam insert around the spring- it can be gotten out with some fiddling but easier if you cut with scissors and pluck with tweezers.
You can see the driver from that end -the silver front piece seems to be glued i place and does not unscrew easily--I put it aside at that point for another day.. I may try some glue release spray. I have a expensive can of 'Blaster PB'-

imo using too much heat could be a mistake so...

I got my 405nm and the 532nm penlaser. I tested it at various voltage with my bench PSU. They represent the voltage of the most popular batteries :
2.6V --> two AAA rechargable cells
3.0V --> two primary cells
3.7 --> one 3.7V li-ion cell

405nm 3.0V, 2.6V and 3.7V. No use to use 3.7V with this laser. The max output is already reach with 3.0V.

532nm 2.6V, 3.0V and 3.7V. It seems the driver is overheating with higher voltages. Quite disappointing output from this green penlaser.

I've recently got 8 greens more. The shipping was 6 days to Croatia (including weekend)! I've never seen this fast free shipping.

The output varies, some have great beam spec, but lower power; some have higher power, but worse beam specs. And 2 of them have both good beam specs and power!

I plan on using 10440 batteries, with spacer; cause the output falls dramatically if the voltage is under 2,8V.

Definitely worth adding to your collection!

Valueoffer/etimeshop. has replied three times in five days= and is sending me a free replacement for the one DOA I got in an order of four 405s.
A while back John Lawson started a thread on pot modding the green pointer from the same seller- I put two of the modules into better heatsinked hosts- one failed finally after lots of use , the other still works fine. makes ~40mW..

Those look interesting. I just recently found out that I have an obsession with diffraction gratings. Please review it on here ;)
