I received one of these this week. Unfortuantly I do not a have a power meter, but here are some pictures.

eBay 5mW red with O-Like 10mW bluray and a maglite mini

note: the dot from the red isn't so messed up in real life, it's some kind of camera thing

That doesn't look like the dot of a 5mW red :P Looks stronger! Even given the 'camera thing'

Haha yeah. It's definitely not 5mW, I'll have to find someone nearby who can meter it for me. If I HAD to guess based on lasers I've owned in the past I'd say it's at least 50mW, possible close to 100. :D

You don't have something to fucus the beam do you? You could try possibly burning... to know :P

They both burn pretty well, the red even better than the bluray. :D Both could etch into black plastic with the help of my glass magnifying glass. :D

You could take grey top off from laser and then focus lens, did this with my purple and i could light match with mine.

EDIT: So i ordered 7 more lasers month ago for my friends (who btw i can trust) and i have not received them and from what i have read from here he has closed his account and sales (Don't know how to check it) and i disputed last time for 5 broken green lasers and lost it so i belive he scammed me. How could i write dispute that would win case against him because i don't want my friends to think i somehow scammed them?

Hey guys I just got my order of 10 405nm lasers (my one 405 pen died so I ordered 10  lol) from ebay here is a link to the page.

10pcs Lot 5mW High Power Blue Purple Violet Ray Laser Pointer Pen Beam 405nm | eBay

I am very happy with the quality, performance, and shipping time from this seller. I ordered on Feb. 16 and received them today. I measured each laser on my lpm twice while randomly alternating those super high quality white dollar store AAA batteries.

Readings
#1 73mw, 71mw
#2 76mw, 76mw
#3 81mw, 82mw
#4 64mw, 66mw
#5 76mw, 75mw
#6 74mw, 77mw
#7 90mw, 99mw
#8 80mw, 82mw
#9 67mw, 71mw
#10 48mw, 56mw

Highest: 99mw, Lowest: 48mw, Average: 74.2mw

Sorry for creating a little review here but I am just trying show you guys what I got for around $3.99/laser :)

Speaking of overspec 405nm lasers, I've ordered THIS laser, it should arrive shortly :)

Got two of these in the mail today, one outputs 75mW and the other 86mW. It really scares me to think of the amount of injuries caused by these lasers as they are only sold as "eye safe" 5mW.

Even 5mW really isn't eye safe either, the MPE for longer exposures is 1mw/cm^2.

Though 5mW would cause a lot less damage than 75mW lasers.

The 1mW/cm^2 MPE is a very conservative value for a power density that you could stare at all day long without sustaining damage.

The 5mW is also a conservative value of the power that would cause no damage under regular conditions because your blink reflex will kick in and limit exposure to 0.25s.

If 5mW lasers were unsafe every year there would be thousands of children with permanent eye damage due to them - and finding even 10 serious medical cases is very hard.

It's probably still far less dangerous than staring at the sun or a bright lamp :P

Got a couple of these in the mail just a few days ago. It never showed up after 30 days so they gave me a refund. After 1 more month I got a letter from the post office that I have a parcel. So basically, I got these for free :shhh:

Both pens can burn a match instantly with the aid of a magnifying lens. It even makes black lines on wood.

One pen is having output stability issues when I use rechargeable cells. When I use a 3.7V li-ion cell its output is very stable. The other pen is perfectly fine with 2.4V only.

I ordered some 10440. I hope it does not show up quickly so I can get a refund again :shhh::eg::evil:
