  • Unless he got different ones, the ones at Optotronics are very thick and too large for a hand head laser mod. But the ones at Nova (although more expensive), are only 10mm X 10mm, and very thin. Easy to fit into just about any host...
Of course an 8X will work in my Key Chain CR2 host, but the heatsink is not really thick and all. (but the host is thick) If used with a conservative duty, it will be fine though. (IMO)

I always use a duty cycle out of habbit. I read that Igor mentioned that this may not be always necessary, but it sure can't hurt right?

About the IR filter, an RPL should have an IR filter already. If you haven't already checked with Jack (recommended), you could also buy IR filters from Nova. (10mm X 10mm)
Does the keychain CR2 kit have good heatsinking for a 8x diode?
Also, where can you buy IR filters for the Optotronics RPL?
Show that 7 color build when you do it!

elitesniper, does it have to be a GITD o-ring? DX has a lot of cheap o-rings:
DealExtreme: Search for o-rings (189 products in 63 categories)
I think he meant an O-ring. I'm not sure if that'd work though.

Anyways, Whats Up Jayman! I got my 7 color build finaly. once i get my flexdrive issue situated, Im gunna put'er together :D

    Cant wait!
The only ones I know of are these:
    DealExtreme: $1.89 Glow-in-the-Dark Silicone Tailcaps for Flashlights (14mm Green / 10-Pack)

So if they are not 'flat' enough, then I don't know...
Hey jay! About the spiderfire p7 we both have... do you know the tail clicky part? well im using the original rubber clicky it comes with beacuse its a little different from the other ones you buy on dx its thicker and firmer...well my question is if theres a glow in the dark oring that i could glue around the rim of the flashlight in the back? So that it still would be flush and i could stand the flashlight on the tail still?
do you know what it mean?
    thanks!:D
My lens modifications are fit for AixiZ modules, and have plenty of room for long distance focusing, but I can fit them for Sure modules as well. It just requires machining some of the threads down, and then running the remaining threads through a 9mm X .05 die.

    Sending PM...

    Hi!

I'm just starting out building lasers having owned and modified a few over the years. I'm hoping to build a blu ray laser using a Sure module so I can focus to infinity, unlike the Aixiz module. (Before I do that I'm going to build some much lower power cheaper ones though!)

Do you still make Meredith 405-G-1 glass mods for Sure modules which can still be focussed to infinity?

I'm in the UK so how would that cost? Do you accept PayPal?

    Any wisdom gratefully received...

    Thanks,

    Dominic
Never tried that, but I doubt it very much... You should ask this question in the Red Lasers section...

I have one of those lights! It is sweet...

It is the same as my Pocket Mini, except it is a chrome finish. The 3 mode switching is in the driver, so the switch is just a 'push on / push off' switch, and it can make a great host.

But the circuit components will need to be removed from the round board before setting up the FlexDrive...

    DealExtreme: $15.99 UltraFire WF-C6S Cree Q5-WC 3-Mode 230-Lumen Memory LED Flashlight (1*CR123A/1*16340)

Looks like another great host for you to make into a kit jay!
Similar to the mini chrome you have but takes cr123 plus its cheaper
Jay this sounds really good. I can learn to do it myself like you said once I learn. I have been taking apart cheap lasers I would buy at ebay and I found some really great sites that sell the modules really cheap. That 3.7 Volt AAA was something I was thinking about useing... I accidentally came upon it looking for batteries. Great Jays think alike huh? Looking at your work has helped me. I'll let you know after I study some more. Thanks for the encouragement.
