Great laser!!
Although I've never seen a 594nm in person, I can tell by pics. that the beam is Awesome
One day I will have one. (soon I hope)
Was saving up for one, then my baby girl (cat) needed an operation.
$796.00 later, I'm back to square one. At least my baby is alright now-Thank god!!
I'd gladly give up all my lasers to keep her healthy! (Well not gladly, but I'd do it):undecided:LOL
:thanks:

Tose are some great pics! It almost looks a golden color. Very pretty indeed! though the price tag isn't so appealing. (I need a better job.....acually, i need to be paid more in this job! (assembling high grade electronic circut boards 'n' stuff!) Great job for this kind of hobby!

any chance of a couple of pics in a darker room??

I want a yellow lab module.. A yellow only scanner would be different and very cool. It can be done with red and green, but that 593.5nm shade of yellow is beautiful.

I certainly understand about your cat! My dogs are my babies!

I'm off for two weeks starting Sunday. There will be more pics to come, and hopefully a review if I can arrange a meeting with some guys in Dallas who have meters. :)

It really is. I can say this beyond any shadow of a doubt: when you're looking at 594nm that has a decent output, no one is going to mistake it for orange. It is YELLOW. :D

A 594nm scanner would be tons of WIN.

Something else that would be neat if you add pure yellow to a scanner. Anyone ever hear of Chromadepth glasses?! You have to project images without mixing any of the colors together, but with the glasses an image in red appears closer than an image in yellow, green and blue. Having pure yellow helps balance things out as the difference between red and green is huge, whereas the difference between green and blue is not as much. You can't use red and green to make a yellow for this as the glasses just break it back up to red and green, it must be a pure yellow from an ion laser or one of these solid state lasers.

I wanted to bump this up for the tons and tons of new folks that have joined in the almost six years since I originally posted this. I see very few names that I recognize, and I would like to share with all of you this VERY unique yellow pen. I've never seen another one that performs like this, ever!

In retrospect, I suppose that it is possible that this may have been a testbed for 589s, as I was told that it was a 'second generation' yellow, and this was before 589s were officially announced as even existing. Though to be fair, it did look more coppery than a low pressure sodium light, consistent with my other 594s. So I don't really know. All I know is that the laser intrigued me, and I had money issues and was forced to sell it.

Either way, I hope you all enjoy!

Here are some more pics. This laser in its box, and this laser absolutely dominating a 10+ mW greenie.

I have a 593.5nm also and it is an awesome wavelength. Mine is only around 3mW though :/

Ooohhh I didn't even notice this was an old thread. I'm supremely jealous. Doesn't that thing get hot in a flash? My 5ish mW laser glow Rigel in that exact same host gets hot quick, I couldn't imagine that thing.

I don't see anything about it being metered. Are you just guessing at the power?

That was the power level as metered by Laserglow. Meters were practically non-existent in the hobby back then.

Hold on, a 40mw Rigel? I didn't know laserglow had any handhelds over 30mw.

Are they only available by request or do they just not make them in that power anymore?

It was a one-off that Justin told me about when I was talking to him. This was six years ago, and I've never seen another like it.

593.5 is the last Wl I need for my collection. It's a pricey one that's for sure. I really want something above 20mw but no companies will ship here. Pisses me off to no end.

I do have a 100mW 473 dpss that is hands down the best blue you can get. It makes my 445 look like UV. Just can't say enough good things about 473. Anyone looking to buy one should really consider JetLasers. 100mW for under 400$ is amazing.

I love 473 as well! I have one of the first generation 'Aurora' models from about 10 years ago. It's unstable, mode hops and gets hot, but on a good day it'll do about 18mW. I love it! Such a gorgeous color!

CNI still ships 593.5nm labbies >20mw to the USA.

The only question is do you have $X,XXX to spend?

The other option if you want a handheld would be to have a reshipping company in China send it to you.
