LPF History 101

Happy 7th Birthday LaserPointerForums!

Avery,
Thank you for your imagination, ingenuity, and sheer determination to endeavor to persevere from the very beginning inception of LPF and on through all of the many technical difficulties, the unpleasant legal hurdles, and the periodic episodes of noxious drama, all the while maintaining your ever clear and persistent vision of what an unbiased laser enthusiast forum can be. Congratulations to you also for proving to all those early nay sayers just how much they misjudged you and your forum concept.

Mods,
Thank you for the countless hours scanning posts, receiving PMs, posting advice and the dedicated level headedness in maintaining LPF’s TOS law and order by keeping drama to a minimum and taking action when necessary to keep the forums swept clean of scammers, rouges and malcontents.

Veterans, circuit designers, master machinists, harvesters, builders, GB organizers, and each of you rising star LPF rookies (that are quickly earning your laser building stripes),
Thank you for continuing to communally push the laser pointer design envelope and by sharing most unselfishly your collective experience, knowledge, trials, and errors. The ever new, inventive, and innovative content you all provide is what I believe to be the essence of what has made and continues to make LPF the most popular laser enthusiast forum that it is today, and I predict it will continue to do so for only as long as abundant evolving creative design and tutorial content is maintained, to wit I hope you all continue to contribute your individually unique creative flair and exercise your laser pointer creative talents for a very long time to come.

Speaking of, I missed my 6th LPF birthday last month! Cool post, even though it is pretty shameful reading back at some of my posts. It'd be nice if old posts retained the same avatars/sigs etc you had at the time.

Mine is coming up this September, quite hard to believe it has been so long. I recently found my old account as well:
Laser Pointers - View Profile: Romenadan
Still have no idea what the acct info is, lmao.

It is amazing how far we have come from the early days!

Woah! Brings back some memories. :D I joined LPF right at the beginning in June '06 but wasn't very active until '07. I remember c0ld getting banished from WL's forum (LC) before the real crackdown there began. Just as they were starting to no longer allow discussions of other companies over there. In early 2007 the LC admin went Bashar al Assad on everyone and the mass banishments started. I was banished and then permanently migrated over to LPF. :D Over the next few months the purges over there really helped LPF get started and fed us lots of new members.
